Once again, the opponents make half time adjustments and shut us
down. And we respond by doing the same old thing: running into
the middle of the line for no gain!! Looked like a replay of
the Towson game, first and goal from the two yard line and we
don't score. Play calling on that series was horrible, three
runs into middle of line. Why not run a naked bootleg with
Bednarski to the far pylon?? Then we get the ball with over four
mins left in game and use three running plays to waste more
time. I put this loss on the offensive play calling, not the
boys
[/quote]
This game is probably the best Ive seen all year with the
Offense. Cotos to Bednarski..He looked comfortable, poised and
accurate all game long. We lost because of our coaching staff
and not our players, once again. I hate to say it but, If this
team ever has a shot at making the FCS Playoffs again, there
needs to be a coaching change.. Same mistakes all season long
with play calling. Our defense got beat up today all for
nothing... I'm disgusted!!!!!

Another heart breaker. I'm still recovering. What a bad second
half. WE had this game. I won't comment much... But I'm
wondering who's idea was it to make FG fake when you are up
24-20... We could've gone 27-20 and the game would've a
different outcome... or atleast OT
Bright side: I was able to take a couple of selfies with Dr.
Stanley! Also was able to lead the student section (Empty lol)
from the podium. hahaha
I'll be there to close it out against Rhody next week. Hopefully
I also make to Albany and spoil their party.
Always a Seawolf no matter what! Go Wolves!!!

Great game, both teams played to win. Was one of the best games
I've gotten to watch all season. I thought after the first half
it was going to be a SB win for sure, but JMU seems to be able
to make those last quarter come backs. Have say it was some of
the worst officiating I've seen for both sides, WOW do they need
instant replay in the CAA. SB fans very nice and a great
stadium, weather was great for football. Only bad thing was the
7+ hr drive, how do you guys take that traffic on the LIE.
Looking forward to next year in Oct back in the Burg.

Hi all, just came on to thank the Stony Brook folks for a great
game day experience. The SBU staff who set up and managed the
bar at the JMU tailgate were great! Everyone, from the tailgate
hospitality folks, to the ticket takers to concessions, fans in
and around the stadium, police, and the staff at the bar by the
train station were incredibly friendly and welcomed us to Stony
Brook. You guys have a good facility, good fans, and a good
team. Hope you have success, except when you face JMU, of
course! I look forward to coming back.

I'm glad ya had a great time at Stony Brook. It was a solid
supportive crowd from JMU. Definitely shows that JMU has a
relatively large and proud fan base. Obviously I'm not too happy
about the way we lost, but it was a great competitive ball game.
Nothing to be ashamed of. JMU played a great game and deserves a
ton of credit pulling off such a comeback. Best of luck in the
last couple of CAA games. Lastly, I hope we beat ya next year ;)

same here- i hope you'll find SB fans are good hosts. :D
this game did look like SB was dominant in that first half. i
did have a feeling that Vad Lee hadnt yet found his rhythm, and
that when he did, it was going to cost us. it did. JMU looks
like a good team and Lee is probably the most talented athlete
in the CAA. but we already knew that.
the usual suspects had a good game for SB. im glad the
commentary pointed out how well makulik plays when SB comes out
in the I formation. its obvious when the wide the holes open
and coker and bedell break into some yardage.

like I said before, I put this one on the coaching staff, the
boys played their hearts out, and the coaching staff did not do
the same. just think, each of the three conf losses we have, we
were leading at half time, then lost the game. the WM game was
due to a player falling down on pass coverage, but the UNH and
now JMU games, I think, were due to the coaching staffs not
making adjustments at half time, when the other team's coaches
adjusted for our run game. Our passing game was dominant on
Saturday, Coker was amazing, but when it came down to crunch
time, we ran three plays up the gut, got stuffed and then tried
a trick play. Not good.
at least a couple of things are for sure now as we close into
the end of the season. we have our QB for 2015. Bednarski has
really grown into the position and is getting better and better
each week. we'll look back at 2014 and only be able to say
"what if Coach P had started Bednarski from Game 1", how would
this season have played out. No. 2: we have a strong running
game returning for next season, Bedell is fantastic. No. 3:
Our D loses some guys, but we have some young bucks ready to
step up and we will be strong there too next year. No. 4: Our
O line, with the two redshirt freshmen are getting better and
better, they should be very good next year.
thats it for me on this game. we had a wonderful time at the
game, much better than watching on the computer. SBU needs to
do something about that too for next season, the current feed
still stinks.

Speaking of that SBU live video feed, I used it for the first
time this weekend after watching the UNH game via their video
feed. The SBU feed needs some serious help. The production is
as if football has never been broadcast on TV before. They run
replays when the teams are going no huddle so the viewer
completely misses plays. But the most annoying part is how much
of the game is shot from the camera in the corner of the
endzone. the camera man zooms in and so you can only see the
guards, the center and the QB. If it is a run up the middle at
least you wind up seeing the play, but otherwise that view is
useless. They actually shot at least one of the plays at the
opposite goal line (the fake FG series) from that camera. They
have a camera on the SBU side of the field up in the press box.
That should be the play by play camera throughout the entire
game, like it is in every other video production of a live
football game!

CT Wolfie: I have those very same complaints early on in the
season. its a shame they have not been able to fix them yet.
its as if the game is being filmed by people that have never
watched a football game on TV. completely unacceptable. I have
heard that SB films the game is HD, but due to the high cost of
transmitting the higher quality feed on the internet, they pay
less and send out a lower bandwidth quality product. again,
unacceptable. I'd much rather pay for a higher quality feed,
rather than get this crappy feed for free.

just listened to Coach P's phone interview on the CAA podcast.
I have to say, I am surprised with the way he downplays
improving QB performance from week to week. Bednarski lit it up
on Saturday, up and down the field in the first half, four
scores on five drives. but Coach P characterized it as "inching
forward with his progress". This seems like an odd
characterization of our QB's performance. there were several
key dropped passes during the second half of the game that would
have extended drives. and coaching blunders at the goal line
that negated points. all this, and P still seems only
marginally satisfied with the QB's and offensive production this
past week. and no comment on how the D gave up two huge TD
bombs that allowed JMU to get back into the game. a balanced
perspective of the team's performance would be appreciated.
