2014: Game 7 - Maine @ SBU 10/11 - TV: SNY/ASN

All of the sudden I find myself with my excitement soaring the
skies... and it was only our first D-1 win of the season. Yet
I'm excited... As ugly as it was. Maybe its the fact that we
finally got it done, that we got over the hump, or that Priore
believes this is a good team about to click... Whatever it is,
I'm looking forward to the Maine game...
But the bummer here is that I wont be at the game (thanks to a
baby shower for a family member which I must attend... Yes I
thought babyshowers were for females only... guess not)
So I will be sticking to my phone and watching the "live"
updates on the ESPN Score Center feed. For those that will
attend I hope ya root loudly for a win against the Bearcats. We
need it.
Also, as a result of me not attending the game I will be giving
a single chairback ticket away in SEC 103, S 3, Row H (~40 Yard
line, last row) and I hope it really gets claimed by one of you.
I know its no biggie, since tickets are cheap and won't sell
out, but I don't want it to go to waste and I'm not giving that
to a Maine fan either.
I'll be there in spirit. Go Seawolves. #BEATMAINE!

Not to be a downer; I'm excited about the win (and especially
the Seawolf defense) too. But, I'm afraid to get my hopes up
until they figure out how to avoid all those silly (and very
costly) penalties!! Geez, if we could get all the yards back
that we've surrendered to penalties over the past six games,
what a difference that would have made!!
Also, I hope Bedell's injury is not serious and that he gets to
play against Maine. Sad to say, but I think Coker should be #3
on the depth chart to Bedell and Kenner!!

All the games from here on out are big, but this is a BIG game
against Maine. lets see if the team comes back home from Towson
jacked up and ready to kick some A$$ in all three parts of the
game, Offense, Defense and Spec Teams.

dont know what to make of maine's resume so far... they also
beat towson in a close contest. maine lost to bryant too...
that program has come a long way. good for them.
its a night game at LaValle and should be a bit cold. is bedell
healthy? it looks like we have at least settled on a starting
QB now that the kinder project is complete. winning a
conference game on the road sets us up nicely for the upcoming
meat grinder.
again, players like davonte and cheesy and ochi continue to have
good games for SB. ricard, quintin and cassell too. i love
this defense. i was worried that we would backtrack after
graduation losses. these guys are keeping it together for SB.
in other news... Nova looks like the real deal this year, they
just pasted Maine.... UalbanY finally played a decent team and
lost a tight one. 4-1

I agree with greg Logan. He's a real good sports writer and he
knows his stuff. I also think SB Offense has turned the corner
and will only get better week after week.. This season could
quite possibly be lost, but I see SB being a top 10 to 15 in the
country next year, assuming the defense stays healthy and we
continue to play the same style of ball next year.....

I need to make a correction to my original statement. What I
meant by " same style of ball" I mean defense only NOT
Offense.... Our offense needs a lot of work in the off season to
have any chance of even being ranked in the upper 20's next
year!! In addition to our play calling, interceptions, and most
of all, PENALTIES!!
I just wanted to clear that up!!!!!!

what i find encouraging over the last couple of weeks is that
the offense is generating some long and sustained drives. this
gives the D some time to rest and regroup on the sidelines. not
all of these drives have succeeded, but its a start, and we can
only hope it gets better and better each week. Look at the
2001(?) Ravens, they won the super bowl with no offense per se,
just a killer D. I just hope we have not dug such a deep hole
for ourselves that we cant get out of it now. basically, we
have to run the table in the rest of our conf games. its
doable, but not sure how probable that is. we get a bit lucky
this year not having to play Richmond and Nova.

ray lewis joke?
that was the team with trent dilfer under center. interesting
parallel to saturday's mississippi/alabama upset, the rebels
doing it with defense, defense, and defense.
kinda like SB too. but yes i see the drives moving along
better.

Maine has no Defense and our Offense should score some points on
the ground and in the air.. We will win this one!!!!!!
