This guy ("the hands of Stony Brook") is a walking billboard for
SBU. I hope he keeps winning titles. Also like that he's a boxer
       with smarts.

Talk about putting SBU on the map sports-wise!! If Algieri can
get a high profile date with Pacquaio (one of the most revered
fighters on the sport), especially if he can actually beat him,
       WOW!!! Read this:

It's funny, I've been getting Algieri fighting updates for years
or at least since his kickboxing at Sports Plus (now LA Fitness)
off 347 in Stony Brook., but I never knew he was a Stony Brook
alum. Seems like a good dude. Happy for him and hope he gets
       that Pacquiao fight.

Stony Brook got some good press on HBO. Ahead of next week's
Chris Algieri/Manny Pacquiao championship fight, HBO is running
a preview show. Algieri wore his red Stony Brook tee and
discussed his Stony Brook experience. The Homecoming game was
prominently featured...I even caught a glimpse of me and gf in
the stands. I don't think Chris has much of a chance against
Pacquiao, but if he wins then he certainly merits a boxing forum
       on this site
