Almonacy had 9 points in Brentwood's 86-69 loss to HHHW in the
AA title game. I gather he battled foul trouble.
Jamel Allen had 40 for Brentwood. As far as I know he hasn't
committed anywhere but I understand grades may be an issue.

I was told the same thing about his grades. Maybe he can do 2
years at a Juco school to try and get his grades up then
transfer to SB.. I've watched this kid play in person a couple
of times this year and he is a beast, the real deal.. I would
put him up against Warney when Warney was a freshman!!!

Allen gave a verbal commit to Iona college... I was really
hoping he would go to a 2 year school to try and get his grades
up, and then transfer to SB. Thats how good this kid is.. Oh
well. Not going to happen now!!

I hate when quality island kids leave to play elsewhere. I get
it - there are a lot of terrific and high-level programs out
there. I just wish they grew up wishing they could play for SBU.
Of course, it wasn't long ago that we weren't much of anything,
so great job by Pikiell raising the program's profile to where
it is now. Allen would have been a nice fit, and obviously
assuming he makes the grade, it seems he was out there late and
relatively under the radar.

I saw something in a New Jersey Paper today that next week
there's going to be a News Conference to name the new coach and
that the person to be names is currently on the Villanova Staff
I don't know how true this is but this is supposed to happen on
Tuesday

interesting, a longwood transfer!

looks like he has one year left? possibly to plug the
warney/mcgrew gap.
and then, to bridge the gap the year later, barnes also is a PF
but a bit shorter. looks like he can hit a three here and
there.

Kessens is interesting. He had his best year as a Fr. at
Longwood against SB level opposition. Then the went to Alabama
and played P5 level competition and had a meaningful if not
major role for two years. Alabama is trending up with Avery
Johnson in change and still Kessens wants to go to a third
school in four years??? You have to think he is chasing max
playing time for his final year and he would definitely get way
more PT at SBU than he would at schools like Dayton or Wichita
St where he would be nothing but a role player again.

Landing Kissens would be huge. If we can add him, I think we
will surprise a lot of people.
I'm kind of concerned about point guard play behind Woodhouse
especially with Throwers situation questionable at best. Can
Mitchell play the 1 for us?
