       Season Ticket Holder Feedback
   DIR By: SaltySeawolf
       Date: May 2, 2014, 7:34 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
The packets came for season ticket pricing and seat selection
for the new arena next season.
Am I the only one not happy with the pricing for the new arena?
Prices have doubled. Thank you SB for paying back my loyalty
for sitting in those crappy bleachers in crappy Pritchard by now
fleecing me. I am sure they have done all the market research
that justifies charging $22 a ticket next season. You want to
sit between the foul lines - that will be an additional 50 bucks
per ticket donation to the school. Last year it was rare that
Pritchard was full - do they think the demand for tickets is
going to be overwhelming? I can afford the ticket, maybe im out
of whack - this pisses me off on principle. I hope there is
backlash about this but I doubt there will be - most people will
       just shut up and pay.
Do I have any point at all or am I being dumb?

Salty I agree 100%. Went watching a pretty bad team way back
when to section 110 at Pritchard . If they want to fill this
new arena they better think twice about pricing. UConn,
Florida we are not So beating up on a NJIT someday is not worth
$ 22 per pop. 4000 plus seats is a lot to fill if the fans
       get cranky.

I was ticked off my self Salty. Pretty much everything you just
talked about, I have concerns with my self. One or two tickets
most fans can suck it up but I had 4 season tickets last year
and I think it cost me around $450. Very acceptable, but now it
will be over a grand.. What about the seating areas. They have
that gym broken up into puzzles so small I dont even know what
to put down on the form to mail in!!!!!!!! If they seriously
think this gym will have more season tickets then Pritchard gym,
       the're in for a shocker.
       Very disappointed!

       $22 per game?? That's quite a jump..
Last year it was $12 per game:
  HTML http://www.goseawolves.org/tickets/ston-10-mbb-tix.html#Season
       $22 is almost double!
  HTML http://grfx.cstv.com/schools/ston/graphics/arena-mbb-price-map.jpg
I was expecting single ticket price to go from $12 to max $15...
We won't have any sell out!
Take a look at peer schools at Hofstra (season ticket for $140)
and Buffalo (season ticket for $125) from last year. Ours should
be in that range..max $150 for season ticket:
  HTML http://www.gohofstra.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=22200&ATCLID=205414818
  HTML http://www.ubbulls.com/tickets/basketball/index
Peer schools like Saint Johns are much higher.. but they are in
Big East.. like Seawolf97 said.. we are not UConn or Florida:
  HTML http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/stjo/sports/m-baskbl/auto_pdf/2013-14/misc_non_event/2013_Season_Tickets.pdf
FYI.. I'm not a season ticket holder
PS: I live in Greater Washington area.. and Wizards single game
tickets at Verizon center were much cheaper during the regular
season than the new SB arena single game ticket

At 4000 seats I am super confident that I will be able to get
tickets for every game. It might make more sense to not buy
season tickets and just attend the 4 or 5 premium games and
watch the others on tv or the internet. 2 season tickets in
center section - $580. 2 tickets to watch Albany, Vermont,
Hartford, and three OOC games - $264. Do I really want to pay
over $20 to see Maine, New Hampshire, UMass Lowell, UMBC? I
don't think so. I'll save over $300 and not see sucky teams
       play (Haverford anyone?).
Hammer - I also totally agree on that ticket pack they sent out
       - could getting tickets be any more complicated? They want me
to go in person at my assigned seat picking appointment to get
       my seats.
I just hope that people share their displeasure with the entire
operation to the people at SB (Christina Rondeau).

What are you guys talking about? You guys are obviously not math
majors ;D Here is the breakdown on ticket pricing and keep in
mind, pricing is based on a 14 game home schedule:
Center Court - Non Season Ticket Holders - $22.00
       1 Year Commitment -
       $20.71
       2 Year Commitment -
       $17.14
Sideline - Non Season Ticket Holders - $18.00
       - 1 Year Commitment -
       $17.44
       - 2 Year Commitment -
       $14.28
Corners - Non Season Ticket Holders - $15.00
       - 1 Year Commitment -
       $13.57
       - 2 Year Commitment -
       $10.71
Endzones - Non Season Ticket Holders - $12 (Advance)

       - $14 (Game Day)
       - 1 Year Commitment -
       $10.71
       - 2 Year Commitment -
       $9.64
I hope this makes everyone feel better!
I'm going with the 2-year commitment, I just haven't decided
with what Section. My date for picking my seats is 6/11 and
overall, I will be around the 120th person to choose their
       seats.
If any person has an issue selling some of their game tickets,
       don't hesitate to contact me.
       Good luck!

Reading comprehension is not one of your strong points, as well
       ;D
You do realize, the ticket packet gives THREE other options
besides being there in person: 1) Online, 2) Phone, and 3) Stony
Brook staff will pick your seats based on your recommendations.
Also, you know Stony Brook lost to New Hampshire at home last
season? I don't mind seeing a few bad teams because you get to
see all the players get in the game and there are usually a few
more dunks in these games :D
If you need anymore help in understanding the packet, please
don't hesitate to contact me or just reply to this post with
       your questions.
Hopefully, you realize I was only teasing you with my wise-a$$
       remarks.
By-the-way, Christina Rondeau maybe the best customer service
rep. I have ever dealt with in all my years being a season
ticket holder and that includes teams such as the Islanders,
       Yankees, Knicks, and Giants.
Why are people complaining? You want first-class facilities,
this is the price you pay! The pricing is very reasonable and
there is even an option to buy tickets for less than $10 each!
       Go Seawolves!

Lax. How many tickets are you buying this season.. 1 maybe 2..
So double the price from last year for decent tickets in the new
gym is, I guess, still not a lot of $$$. I need 4 tickets!!! At
$240 a pop that's still $960, lets say $1000 with some BS Fee
that will be added into the price when we finally pay, is big
       money to watch SB play...
Lets say all the season ticket holders renew their season
tickets, the odds are I wont be sitting in any of the Rows from
       A to D in section 111, 109, 201, 202 or 203.. I think at least
half of all season ticket holders will pick center court and the
majority will take sideline seats. There aren't many A row seats
with the sideline section so if you want that section, chances
are you will be seated much higher up .. If thats the case then
why get season tickets. Just purchase them individually and you
won't feel to bad missing a game because something unexpectedly
came up! When I say you I don't mean you personally because your
seat raking is much higher then mine. You most likely will get
to choose any seat you want.. To pay $240 a seat times 4 to try
and get a good seat in section 110, center court, will most
likely NOT happen from row A to D so why pay premium prices for
anything much higher up in section 110..
This is all just my preliminary thinking and I have to decide
what's best for me .. If I can get the wifey to stay home then
Things could change. lol.. remember, I am also a Football season
ticket holder so, giving SB over $1500 a year could teeter on
the side of a little crazy considering I did not graduate from
       SB!!

Hammer thanks for saying it much better than I could have - I
was a little ticked off at being called stupid, twice, to form a
rational response. I don't have SB football tix - but I do
have Army season tickets. They jacked the price up too - and
that's coming off 3 seasons of 2, 3, and 2 wins and no new
construction. Let's not fool ourselves. Even though we all
love SB basketball, it's low low major basketball - not close to
mid major. SB can also trumpet 20 win seasons all they want -
let's beat somebody, anybody with a winning record.
