The kid couldn't hit a 15' jumper and was always out of control
on the fast-break - bye-bye! JUCO and D2 are more suited for his
style of play.

Walker going JUCO is so that he can play this year and still
have 2 years of remaining eligibility left. Remember, you have
5 years to play 4. If he transferred to another D1 immediately,
he would have to sit out the year (like Woodhouse). He is a
legit D1 player (lack of consistent jumper or not), and will
certainly be back in D1 in '15-'16.

As per NYCWolf from BBforums...
this may be our sched:
so now SBU has
@ providence
@ Georgia
@ cincy
@ western kentucky
@ gonzaga
@ Hofstra
@ Canisius
LIU(another fallout from the NIT)
Columbia
Loyola
D3
Also heard maybe American
Sounds challenging, yet exciting to see the Wolves play some
high caliber opponents and quality mid major teams

Challenging to say the least. Maybe we get lucky and win a
couple.

USAToday projects SB at #66. That's better than some other
predictions and I think more accurate, though I'd like to think
we can do better than a 16 seed if/when we make the Tournament.

Great article. I think we can knock off Georgia and maybe
Western Kentucky, Cincy and Gongaga are in a class by
themselves especially at home.

Info seems pretty sketchy right now. But, from what I'm seeing,
it looks like SBU may have picked up a big man from Slovakia
(Jakub Petras). Can't tell yet whether it's for this season or
next. But, I think he's already 20 years old, so I imagine it's
for the near term. The data I've seen lists him as anywhere
from 6'8" to 7'0". But, looking at the video (see below), my
guess is that he's at least 6'10". The stats that I've seen
aren't that imposing, but who knows? Anyway, here are a couple
of links:

I'm not impressed with this kid. I think you can find a ton of
big men with the same skills as Petras here in the US. Lets see
what Pikell has to say first before we all pass judgment on
him!!!
