I see no chance of AJ starting this year but, he will be a huge
contender for next. I hope the coaches allow him to play in the
Spring game. You will be impressed. I am not saying anything
but I see a little bit of Johnny Manzell in him!!!

The QB spot is wide open and it will be throughout the summer.
Otranto has just as good a shot as anyone on the roster. I
watched the kid for 3 yrs in HS and was very impressed, he was
better every year. Word from the inside is that the coaches love
Otranto, I heard this last yr when he was redshirting. It would
be nice for a QB to play for 4yrs, it's been done before. I
don't want to hear from the haters that he isn't tall enough or
can't play at this level, if that is your opinion then you
really don't watch or know that much about football. He has the
arm, the speed, the feet in the pocket, and the intangibles. The
kid is a winner and I can't wait to see him prove a lot of
people wrong. And yes Hammer he does have just a little Manziel
in him.

Chrissy, interesting. with Hernandez getting most of the snaps
at QB, I figured the coaches had already locked in on him as the
starter.

I am not saying anything is written in stone BFF, but that's
what I heard. As you know a lot can happen from now until the
season starts. Hernandez and Otranto are similar players.

We do need a QB that is not one done. That's how they grow and
develop. Last year we were shaky at QB to be sure. If we had
started a freshman or soph we would now have a seasoned 2nd year
starter with game experience .

I couldn't agree anymore Seawolf97..I've been pounding my fist
on the table for 2 years now about this exact topic. We need a
Freshman or Sophomore Q who has the smarts and IQ to grow with
the team and get better every year. From what I've been seeing
so far from Spring practise, Otranto would clearly be our
starter this year but, we still need to see what Kinder, (
Syracuse transfer ) has to offer us.... If he has any FBS
caliber skills, then Otranto should sit out or be the backup ..
Again, we can only see a small fraction of what's going on
behind close doors with practise and a lot will change from now
to Aug 30th.. Thats why I love College Football over the NFL, so
much changes on a weekly bases and Coaches need to constantly
adjust.. The future is looking really bright for SBF!!!!!

Just paid for my Football season tickets...... There will be 10
of us again buying season tickets, Upper level, Chair Backs, 45
yard line...... Looks like us Tailgaters will have to choke up
so $$ to park in the stadium lot this year. SB going big school
I see!. Rumor has it the price could be $75 to $100 per vehicle.
Still cheaper then some of the southern universities charging
upwards of $10,000 per vehicle to park up close to the stadium.
When I went to Clemson last year we paid $100 to park in a dirt
lot about a quarter of a mile away to tailgate..

i dont think any of the QBs in the stabel right now give us the
"one and done" approach, unless for some reason, Kinder for
Syracuse gets the job later this summer.

I caught a glimpse of spring practice today. I am still very
impressed with the entire Defense this year including the
safety's and the wide outs something we struggled with last
year. Date Allen and Victor Ochi are something special and will
be a blast to watch this year. On Offense, Will Tye is well Will
Tye! Fredericks is strong and Chris Mkulik, FB looks impressive.
TE, PJ Edwards was strong and has good hands. Our Offensive
line looks weak and small without Arthur Dokes . Still no signs
of him on the sidelines. I was told he is still with the team
but, we shall see...
I know it's early in the season and some players aren't
practicing , but I still have huge concerns with our
Quarterback. . Bednarski and Hernandez look awful. I saw
Hernandez throw back to back interceptions on some bad reading
of the field. Otranto only played for a few possessions and was
accurate. Coaches must be seeing the same thing I am and have
plans for him down the road and I think he will be our starter,
next season and a backup this season!!

Thanks for the update. If we can solve our QB issue we should
ok. We have the running game, wide outs and a solid defense.
It would de nice to have a QB that comes back for the next 2 or
3 seasons.
