as for our QB situation, we need to see how Spring Ball goes
before we start crying "fire". we have several returning kids
to the program, and this will be their chance to shine. we got
Kinder coming in this summer. we go a couple kids coming off
their red shirt year. its way too early to say we have an
"issue" at QB.

any conversations about Jordan Fredericks? According to MSG
Varsity had offer from Temple already. Might have the most
potential among the brothers.

Oh well, so much for the all-Fredericks backfield of the future.
Can't blame the kid, though.

With respect to 2015 recruiting, it seems there's good news and
bad. The good news is that SBU seems to be going after higher
rated recruits this coming year, including several 3-star rated
players. The bad news is that of the eight (8) players (by my
count) offered to date, six (6) have already committed to other
schools, and one of the two (2) remaining is leaning decidedly
toward another program.
Looks like that next recruiting step up for SBU is going to
prove to be a tough one until at least a CAA championship makes
its appearance.

IT's not going to be easy winning a championship with unranked
players. A lot has to do with SB recruiting team. A real good
salesman can sell ice in the winter. Maybe Priore needs to start
looking for top talented recruiting staff!!!!

I really don't put much if any stock into the rivals rankings.
Many of the only Stony Brook players came here with very little
fanfare, some like Michael Bamiro and Christian Ricard were
walk-ons. Heck Priore and Co. were the only team to offer Jay
Bromley a scholarship (techinically I believe they were out of
scholarships so asked him to grayshirt and enroll in January),
but Syracuse swooped in after watching him in the Boomer game.
In April, Bromley was the Giants third round pick.

I just read that SBU was the first to offer this kid (Samir
Bullock). Take a read of this article and view the highlights
video from his junior year. He certainly looks like he would be
a great candidate to carry on the Seawolves' RB legacy!!

sbufan. I am very happy for Synceir joining the Seawolves. I
wish him all the best of luck and he could pan out to be a great
CB. The problem I am having here is. He is a project CB from
Upstate NY.. Shouldn't The SB Coaches be looking for Athletes
down South or West, where they play all year and are being
taught by more experienced High School Coaches or Prep school
Coaches. I'm not saying Iona Prep is a bad school, I'm just
saying if we are going to burn a scholarship on a kid, I think
SB needs to work harder in finding someone who gets multiple
offers from different, larger schools. I know some people put
too much emphasis on Star players, but Rivals and ESPN player
rankings know something we don't.. We need to attract higher
caliber players to compete in the CAA.... Hey, you never know.
He might go with a FCS school and turn down a couple of FBS
offers knowing quite well he will be a starter...

You can make the argument that states like Florida, California,
and Texas are over recruited. Why scrape the bottom of the
barrel thousands of miles away when you have local talent
getting overlooked simply because they live in New York. That
said Stony Brook coaching staff does recruit Florida California,
and Texas.
I just really have no gripe with the coaching staff's
recruiting. I think they've done a solid job bringing in talent.
