       SB vs Duke 2/23 12pm
By: Chairman of the Board Date: February 18, 2014, 9:37 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
SB travels to the research triangle for what i think is the
first ever contest between these two teams. Duke is ranked #2
in most polls. They host Penn on friday at home 7pm, a solid
opponent, but should win. Penn beat up on Duke last year early.
SB plays at Koskinen less than two days later on Sunday at
       noon. 60' and sunny.
I think in order for us to win, we cant let them run and gun AND
we have to win all of the faceoffs. Only then can we
systematically control the game and strike when necessary. Duke
has arguably the best faceoff mid in the country, he essentially
won them the natl championship last may.
We can score, no secret. Can we do it against a natl title
contender with our underclassmen? The reason i bring this up is
because Duke has surrendered 10 to both Jax and Denver. Why not
then a dozen to us? Especially after the way the Wolves played
       tonight...
On attack, Wolfe and Dionne are two of the best in the game.
Their middies are young but athletic. Lets not forget they won
a natl championship last year- by six. Theyve got depth at
       attack and a sizable defense.
Just my opinion- but they seem to have trouble with the teams
that slow it down and control the ball- notably Loyola, ND,
Denver and even Penn. Just an observation from a fan!

Brendan Fowler will be a huge test for Rowe. Fowler pretty much
won the National Championship for Duke last year by dominating
at the X. I can't believe Rowe is winning 80% of his draws.
Fowler is at 62% after 2 games. This is going to be a true
       battle.
I can see us scoring on the Blue Devils but defending Wolfe and
Dionne is going to be real tough. I would love more than
anything to win this game but if I was a betting man I would say
       17-11 Duke. Hope I'm wrong.

Nope, we played in the Triangle Classic back in 1991 at Duke on
a Saturday and at UNC the following day. Even though we got
killed each game, I scored a goal in each game and our goalie
       was named MVP!

Yes, the legend Rob Serratore, the fiercest competitor and
nobody hit the crease attackman harder than him.

Truly amazing turnaround at faceoff this season compared to
last...from famine to feast! Of course this weekend will be the
       real test.
