Very interesting reading the comments from the SB fans after the
games. The only thing that matters during conference games is
winning, there are no style points. Look around the country,
upsets during league play happen every week. It appears that
your best player was hurting and almost didn't play (Warney, who
clearly wasn't himself), your next best player, at the most
important position, didn't play, and your starting PF was
throwing up during the game. You played guys who normally do
not play, they received good game experience, and you still won
the game. Take the win and move on.....at the end of the day,
it still comes down to you and Vermont later this month for the
top seed in the tournament. To me, it should be all about
getting healthy, and when possible, finding out a bit more about
what you have outside of your top 6 rotation players.....

I think we have to accept that we are a GOOD team in the America
East. Not a GREAT team. Not a DOMINANT team.
To begin, beating Hartford (without Nwakamma) by only 4pts at
home is not something to be thrilled about. Yes, Hartford was
hitting threes, but they finished the game 12-32 (37.5%). That
isn't lights-out. A win is a win, but the expectations are
higher. Games like this mean IF we make the dance (a huge IF),
it's a trip to Dayton.
Warney may have a hand injury, but it had very little to do with
his lower production yesterday. He had no turnovers, missed 4
shots from the floor, and made all of his FT's. I don't think
the factor was his injury. Maybe he has an illness, maybe it's
the game-plan, maybe this is the team they really are...
I have no doubt that the injuries are playing a factor, but
after this week, would anyone be shocked if we lost to Lowell on
the road, Vermont on the road, and/or Albany at home (and maybe
even one other "clunker" like the games against Hartford &
Albany last year)? It still puts us comfortably as a 2 seed, but
thats because the America East is absolutely terrible. We just
happen to be the cream of the crap.
On a different note, Haverford dropped a heartbreaker to Johns
Hopkins, and is now 6-11 (2-10 in conference). We're their only
non-conference loss! That Centennial Conference is a beast!

The AE is bad but not the worst conference in Div1. ... Take a
look around the league and see how bad many other teams are
throughout Div1 conferences!!!

Take the win.
Lets get healthy, build depth in the meantime, and hopefully be
playing our best basketball in March.
