Game 20- SBU vs. Vermont - ESPNU

A very solid win over UMBC yesterday. But, now it's time to get
on to where the rubber meets the road. The most important game
of the season so far is on for Friday at Pritchard!! It's so
important to make a statement in this one, as the Catamounts
seem to be on a roll. Critical to get the home win under the
Seawolves' belt, so that the pressure will really be on Vermont
at Patrick later in the schedule.

they put up 90 on duke, and nearly won. beaten some other teams
by 20 and 30 points. i think these guys are good and the team
to beat in the AE. we are going to need the home field
advantage if we are going to split. GO SB

Glad to see this post nice and early. I was thinking we needed
the full week run up and was going to come start it. You were
       hours ahead of me ;D.
In the context of regular season, this game is as big and as
important as it gets. The top two teams in the league, both
5-0, playing for sole possession of first place. The winner
clearly having the inside track to the number one seed and
everything that entails. (8 seed in opening round - probably
avoiding Albany at Albany or Vermont until the home
Championship.) The game is more important for SB because we are
home. Vermont comes in playing with house money here. We must
hold serve at home. Aside from the AE Championship game this is
the only conference game on ESPN television the entire year -
Friday night at 9pm on ESPNU.
Both teams have had ups and downs this year. UVM gave Duke a
run (Duke's worst team in years btw), we were ahead on VCU and
LaSalle for halves and our depth at the time hurt us down the
stretch of both games. If we play well we win. If Vermont
plays well and we play well we win. If Vermont plays poorly and
we play well we win. The only way we lose is if Vermont plays
       well and we play poorly.

First time ever we are 5-0 in conference play. isn't that great.
It would be even better to be 6-0. Lets go Wolves. The Prit is
going to be loud that night!!! Can't wait!

Vermont will be tough. SB has a better record but Vermont has a
tougher schedule...175 vs. 324 (Sagarin) and is actually rated
higher overall. Should be within 10 points either way.

My first exam of the semester is tomorrow and I'm pretty sure
all of my answers are going to be basketball. I'll be watching
the game at a pub in Baltimore. It should be a close game, I see
us coming out with a 6 point win in Pritchard. If we come out
hot from 3 and play some stingy D, keeping Voekel in check I can
see a 12 point win. Go Seawolves!
