Game 18: SBU vs. UMASS-Lowell

You guys are making me nervous by ignoring this game in the
discussion!! I get the feeling that you've all already put it
in the win column. While I agree that a W is likely, don't
count the River Hawks out. They seem to be a game bunch.
Remember what they just did to Albany!!

While I will be happy with any win - I am looking for far more.
Maybe im a bully - but I think there should be a right of
passage into Div 1 and the rest of this pathetic loser league
has missed that. Three wins in a row for a team that finished
8th in a div 2 conference last year is disgusting. I want SB to
batter and demoralize UML so they know they don't belong in the
same gym with SB. Looking for Coley to shut down Akeem Williams
and want Eric and Jameel to go hog wild inside. Beat the River
Hawks like a red headed step child.
One thing SB does particularly well under Pikiell is not taking
opponents for granted and winning the games they are supposed to
win. The past 4 years we have basically swept everyone but
Albany, Boston U, and Vermont.

Amen!!!!!!!!!!.. SB Basketball is going to give Lowell a very
nice welcome to our league gift by crushing them 20 points or
more and leaving them a" L" as a parting gift!!!!!!

are you kidding me. 59-54 Stony Brook.
what the heck is going on. is Umass Lowell going to win this
league or what? Is that what the AE has come down to? Division
II quality... god i'm pissed

ecasado, I was at the game tonight just like all the other home
games and Lowell is for real.. Get the whole Div11 out of your
head because they can compete at any level... We have a new 800
pound gorilla in the conference.. Forget Albany and Vermont,
fear Lowell.... Keep in mind, Jackson did not play and we were
cold as ice at the 3 !!!!!!

Well not easy like I hoped but we'll take it. Disappointed that
Coley was so so bad. Quick turn around - team tips off on
Baltimore at 2:00 on Monday. 41 hours to get ready and that
includes a six hour bus trip. Jackson should be raring to go
though.

Oh boy. I don't like how that sounds. They were winless in their
D-I schedule and they already have 3 wins in this conference.
Not a team Stony Brook should be beating by five points. but
i'll give em the benefit of the doubt. I'm just glad we got the
win. I'll take it. Lets go Seawolves!

Hammer, you were at the game and I wasn't, but the fact remains
that SB struggled at home against a team that is ranked 313 (I
repeat, 313) out of 351 teams by kenpom and which lost their top
scorer during the game. That doesn't say good things about
Lowell but not-so-good things about the Seawolves at this point.
Can't sugarcoat that. That said, I still hope they can beat
Vermont and make it to the Tournament this year.
