I did a bit more research on West, he is projected to be a 4th
or 5th round draft pick this spring. he is rated as the 5th
best overall RB in the upcoming draft. He will go NFL
West will most likely will go in the mid to late rounds as you
stated when he decides to enter the draft... Whats a shame is if
he was playing in the FBS, he would most likely be going in the
early to mid rounds.. Sad but thats life as a star player in the
FCS !!!

Chrissy. I am sure you already read this mornings Newsday MSG
varsity and All LI Football teams section .... Who do you think
is the best Quarterback on that list and do you think Priore is
eyeing one of them.. Ray Catapano, SR., from Lawrence looks like
the best kid from LI. He only threw 3 interception to go with
his 36 touchdowns all year, thats accuracy and poised....Newsday
doesn't say anything about what school he is going to though !!
Having a Q like Catapano and our RB solid as a rock things are
looking really good for next year. Now it's time to work on the
WR and the back field DB to shore up our defense !!!!! Stay
tuned !!!!!
I think Joey Cap from Lawrence is the best right now,
he is extremely accurate and has a strong arm. He is also a good
baseball player so he might go to school for that. A close
second is Catapano, good size and throws a nice deep ball. As far
as SB goes I don't know if these two are any different than two
locals that we have already. You would compare Capobianco to
A.J. Otranto, each possessing similar skills. Otranto slightly
taller and equal in arm strength and accuracy, both move well
outside the pocket. Catapano compares to Steven Ferriera in size
and deep ball throwing ability. And remember Ferreira's stats
were quite impressive coming out as well. So I like both but I
don't know if SB goes after them given what I just stated. One
thing you have to remember is that these kids are running more
sophisticated offenses in HS than ever before so they are more
college ready when they arrive.

I see your point.. Ferriera, and A.J. Otranto are similar to
Catapano and Capobianco so recruiting another Long Island Q
from this class probably makes no sense.. The coaches have a
huge decision to make ..Go with one of our local Q or try and
bring in a FBS caliber Q who has experience but wants more
playing time.. I guess every team in college is looking to do
the same thing !!

the cupboard is not bare in the QB category folks. we have two
California QBs, one with loads of JC experience, and the second,
Hernandez ripped it up in HS. so there are your ONE TWO punch
for spring ball. I expect Coach P is off looking for some fresh
blood at QB, either a transfer or a promising HS kid.

SB to play home-and-home series with North Dakota beginning next
season. This isn't the "good" ND State but the other one. Still,
it makes for an interesting schedule.

U of North Dakota was 3-8 last season. they play in the Big Sky
conf which is pretty decent, one of the better FCS conferences
in the country.
great news to hear this.
