Captain. I guess what you're saying applies to every single
athlete .. If that were the case then don't give any high school
player a shot to play Football.... Capobianco is a FBS calliper
Q but because of his height he probably will be passed over and
picked up at the FCS level but his number are extremely
impressive and I would recruit him if i were Priore !... He's #1
in NYS for a quarterback. Is that not good enough to be a
quarterback at SB ?????

Towson will crush Fordham, a very arrogant fan base .

Yes. I think Towson crushes Fordham not because I dont like
Fordham fan base but because Towson is a very talent team all
around !

What exactly makes him an FBS caliber QB? Gaudy statistics
don't always translate to the college level. He's also facing
inferior talent on Long Island. Ask Jackolski and Maysonet and
other guys who've played on LI. Their numbers would be quite
different in Pennsylvania or Ohio. I'm not saying the kid isn't
talented. I'm saying just because he has a 100 TDs means
little.

If you think for a second that Jackolski and Maysonette would
not have been good in other states then you are not really
watching. Last time I checked both played against kid's from
other states in college and dominated. Gwantley failed because
of off the field issues not his talent. What you are saying is
that SB shouldn't have any LI kids on the team cause their High
school comp is weaker, that's crazy. Dudley, Hauter, Ochi,
Allen, Eugene,Thompson, Lisi, Franklin to name a few. All
starters since their freshman or RS freshman yr except Eugene,he
was a transfer. Go back to Brock and Miguel and the all time FCS
numbers that they put up. How bout Eddie Gowins and Conte
Cottino. Have you seen what Dalton Crossan has done for NH the
last couple of weeks during their playoff and stretch run. I
guess Stacy Bedell starting for FBS Umass is a fluke. What about
Uniondales William Stanbeck who is a starting RB for UCF as a
true freshman. How about some RS freshman for next yr, Cammara,
Haggert, your gonna tell me that they can't play cause they
played on the island. If you look at the rosters of the otherCAA
and FCS teams you will see that they are loaded with their own
local talent. As far as Capobianco goes maybe SB has no
interest, maybe they do but to say that he can't play FCS is
kinda silly. I forgot about Tyler Fredericks I guess he can't
play either ( his younger brother Jordan is a Jr and already has
FBS offers ) and they went to Lawrence. And Eddie Gowins brother
Jordan also a Jr has recieved FBS offers as well with Forida St
leading the pack. So let's put to bed the notion that L.I. kid's
can't play.

wow, tough crowd to please down at James Madison. that makes
two schools in the CAA that fired HCs this off season (Rhode
Island also release their HC)
James Madison fires football coach Matthews
Harrisonburg, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - James Madison football
coach Mickey Matthews, who led the Dukes to the 2004 FCS
national championship, was fired on Monday, two days after
completing his 15th season.
The Dukes lost four of their final five games to finish 6-6
(which included a loss to Stony Brook). They had a 109-71
overall record under Matthews.
The highlight of his James Madison tenure was the 2004 season,
when the Dukes went 13-2 and defeated Montana, 31-21, in the FCS
(then NCAA Division I-AA) championship game.
Since Matthews led the Dukes to the national semifinals in 2008,
they have missed the playoffs in four of the past five seasons.
Matthews had one year remaining on his contract.

Chrissy. It looks as if 2014 could be the biggest local recruit
year so far for SB.. Would you happen to have any stats on that
to compare ?? I would like to keep track of how many locals SB
recruits this year and compare to previous years... I would also
love to see some local high school athlete turn down an FBS
offer for SB . Don't laugh but many students these days prefer
to stay close to home instead of going out of state for 4 or 5
years and because SB is the only Div1 school on LI, this could
happen, a lot has to do with $$$$$, also... This is what SB
needs to continue growing and building their brand !!!

Hammer I don't have the exact numbers right now, but just check
the roster and you will see how many L.I. kids are on it. I do
know that since Priore has been here the # of L.I. recruits has
gone way up. And when it comes to a full ride at FCS or a
partial at FBS, yes some kids would go FCS, and that also would
apply to out of state recruits.

Towson beats Fordham in the second Round 48-28. New Hampshire
beats #5 Maine 41-27 to advance to the Quarterfinals. Two CAA
members in the Quarters.
top ranked North Dakota State advances beat Furman 38-7. God...
this team is dominant!
The biggest of surprises: Coastal Carolina from the Big South
advances to the Quarterfinals defeating eighth seeded Monatana
Grizzles 42-35. Wow... The Big South is on fire all of the
sudden.
Sam Houston State playing right now.
I like the playoff picture right now. Most impressed by Coastal
who was dismissed by many for being from the Big South

I am not sure if any of you guys follow NDSU but i have been..
Their coach. Boyl is leaving for a head coaching job at FBS
Wyoming and he is taking his entire staff with him.... What a
blow for the Bisens.. I did not know this but NDSU actually got
ranked on the FBS level and would have been ranked 23 in the
Country.. Amazing..

NDSU is gonna be fine. I'm sure they'll figure it out. With all
the success they have had, I wouldn't doubt they'll reload with
a new coach. Maybe not as dominant as today, but they'll still
be a major power.
But out of all place, why the heck would you take Wyoming as
your follow up Gig. I understand its FBS, and the Mountain West
is a good level of football, and more $$$, but why Wyoming?
that's like the same talent level of a NDSU team but with 20
more scholarships... Best of luck to him and NDSU.
