Captain, that 2006 Penn St teamed sucked...it's RPI was around
150 that year, so we're still waiting on signature win.
As for all the fouls, I do NOT like the new, stricter rules
against the defense. I'm not interested in watching a free throw
contest. Heck, even I can shoot free throws.

So beating a Big 10 team with a roster of a few Division I
players is not a signature win. I beg to differ.

penn state is unknown in men's college ball... they only have
that team because they dont have any other choice. its a
mid-major program on a big time conference. If anything, UMass
is more of a signature win than Penn St.... But I want a
victory that its "BIG"... that gets peoples attention and
potential recruits out there. We seem to be so close yet so far.
VCU is the next upcoming ranked team... But that team is
       reaaaaaal good.
I'm sure Pikiell will get it.... Im just wondering when. I'm
getting a bit desperate. If we wanna be taken serious we gotta
       get over the hump somehow.

While I know they're not ranked this season, somehow I still
feel that a win over LaSalle in MSG Dec. 7th would be huge!!!
They certainly have an excellent program history, and the Garden
stage in and of itself could not go unnoticed if the Seawolves
       could pull it off.
Also, games against Toledo, Detroit and Loyola, while not each
earth-shattering by themselves, collectively are representative
of SBU facing big challenges this year facing quality programs.
Winning any two of those would be a real attention getter for
       the Seawolves, don't you think?

We need a win over a Top 25 team. Other mid-majors have done it
over the years. Wins over quality but unranked programs get our
       attention, but that's about it.

VCU would be a good win even though they are an A 10 team. Our
schedule is tough this year. St Francis who we play soon
knocked off Miami 66-62 a few days ago, VCU, Toledo etc will
be tough games especially if our guards don't show up. If we
get good guard play out in Detroit and keep those fouls down we
will win 2 of 3 games. Fairleigh Dickinson is probably our
next easy game. Win all 3 in Detroit and come home 6-1 we will
       get noticed for sure
