No question that our Lady Seawolves were severely overmatched by
Michigan. But, I think Coach O'Boyle and her team had a
magnificent season and are to be congratulated. I saw a few of
the games, and was really impressed with the quality of the
team. Expect more great things going forward.
A couple of thoughts:
1) I think that their wonderful success (as well as that of the
women's lacrosse team) have earned them their own tabs in this
board, as opposed to being lumped under "Other". It might
encourage more discussion about them in the future. Just a
suggestion for the amins. to consider.
2) Don't you guys think that there should be more hype about the
team overall on the SBU Athletics website? There are several of
the players graduating this year, but I have not been able to
find out anywhere about what HS girls are being recruited. Have
any signed LOIs, or verbally committed? I certainly haven't
been able to get any visibility on ESPN or Rivals.com. After
all, the ladies are going to be sharing the new arena with the
men next season!! Let's try to generate some interest!!

Read that Coach O'Boyle has been named coach of the year. Well
deserved. Congrats to her, and we should all hope she keeps it
going
Anybody have any info on what's been happening with the Lady
Seawolves recruiting for the upcoming season?

Beth Boyle resigned today for a head coaching job at VCU. Can't
blame her for chasing the big $$$$$... Sucks for SBU though.

Hire Todd Mitmesser. He wins everywhere he goes, including when
he joined O'Boyle's staff

Yeah, he's had a very impressive career as an assistant.
Everywhere he goes they win. He was an associate head coach for
a really solid Toledo team before his wife got a job in the
area, so he left Toledo and joined the coaching staff at Stony
Brook.
