So close... yet so far. We fall to 3-5. I guess we just gotta
enjoy whatever we have left of our season and beat smallbany of
course. tough season so far but nothing to feel bad about with
the circumstances. Hopefully they play strong the rest of the
way and give us hope for next year. We knew it wasn't going to
be easy. Its the CAA and add the injuries and things don't look
       good.
I didn't follow the game close enough to comment about it but I
don't like what I hear in terms of the play calling... :(
Looking forward to November 8th (vs Marist MBB) and November 9th
(vs Richmond FB). Should be a great weekend of Seawolves
       Athletics!!
       Lets go Seawolves

that game was a classic tale of two halfs. O-line turned it on
in the second half, and watch out, we have a running game again.
clearly, we have the talent to play big time football in this
conference. the only game we have looked outmatched on was the
Towson game. UNH and this game were very winnable, but some
mental lapses by our DBs gave up large gains at very inopportune
times. Today, if we hold Maine on third and 11 in fourth
quarter, we win the game, but....
time to focus on finishing the season strong with three straight
wins. these are certainly winnable games, with the toughest
being James Madison? then, unfortunately, its on to next
season. no playoff run this year. :-[
Question: if the coaching staff is recruiting run blockers for
the O-line, does that mean that our pass blocking has to suffer?
I'm just asking, cuz it seems like our pass blocking is very
marginal at best. if Negron cant get the ball to his first
option, then he risks a sack, cuz the pass blocking breaks down.
Question: we run pass routes down the sidelines, and then
out-routes to the sidelines, not much effort to throw across the
middle and make the other team defend the middle routes.
Question: when we roll out the QB, it usually to the short side
of the field. this makes no sense to me at all.
       have a good weekend folks.

i noticed the bootlegs (with a hurt QB no less) to the short
field. i remember being a CB or OLB and having to defend the
wide side. how awful that was the moment i saw a guard pull and
i knew that he and the FB would plow me over and the RB would
       have an open field.
also, yes, with Tye, should we not be using the 5 yard ins
(whether from the slot or tight or jumbo) and be using him and
nehls? if i was an LB, i would NOT want to try to stop him over
the middle. i mean, if were going to bootleg, lets waggle.

first off: don't burn anyone's redshirt year this late in the
season, especially a questionable season like this one.
second: on reflection, I think the call on 3rd and 4, with a
bomb to the endzone was a good call. Coaching staff knew they
would go for it on 4th down anyway, so take a shot. And SB got
the matchup they wanted, one on one, with a bigger receiver on
the DB. our guy had inside position on the ball, the ball HIT
our guy in the hands (so great throw by Negron), receiver just
clanked the reception. ??? otherwise its a backbreaking TD. the
shame of it all is that we could not find a way to convert on
4th and 4. actually, our receivers had a very poor day
       overall.... and that was surprising.

HEY. Today was a huge improvement from last week against a 10th
rank team who is 8/1..... I really thought the Brooks were going
to get blown out but we held maine to the lowest first half
points all season, We were probably their toughest opponent this
season and that is something SB will build off of for next year.
Todays game proves we can keep up with these teams in the CAA..

No I said don't burn redshirts, just some RS Fresh who are
active. Wagner is a RS Fresh and caught a pass today. I disagree
about Towson we were not overmatched just played a sloppy 2nd
have with bad penalties. As far as pass blocking goes it's not
great but it's not bad, Negron has to have a faster clock in his
head and get rid of the ball quicker. Also some RB's in the pass
routes would help, maybe some screen plays witch would help with
inconsistent pass blocking. We haven't used RB's in the passing
       gm since Jackolski left.

First half our line was not blocking well for Negron but in the
second half they did well. Negrons numbers were 6-22-2 129
yards. UGHHHHHHHHHHH .. That is terrible for any team...

Negron is not suited to the offense SBU wants to run.
His deep-ball accuracy isn't ideal, and his decision-making is
not what Priore wants. Negron tends to try and extend plays,
improvise, etc. That tends to yield boom/bust scenarios, and
doesn't fit the "grind it out" conservative style Priore wants.
I think Negron would be a much better fit in a spread offense
where he can improvise, scramble around, and let the chaos help
       him.
Todays game showed we need to start opening up the offense.
Most of the game, Maine had 9-10 guys in the box. There was no
threat of a passing game, and once we started actually showing
some passing options, the offense started clicking.
Another loss to a ranked opponent. It's rough, but at the same
time, if this is the "low point" for the Seawolves, i'll take
       it.

Hey Hammer this one's for you. Check out the A.J. Otranto video
it's about 9 min long. First half is passing and 2nd half is him
runner from the spread. I love this kid's game and I think he
fits the QB that is preferred on this board. He reminds me of
the QB from Villanova, with a better arm. He did finish 3rd in a
tri state QB comp the summer before his senior yr ( the two QB's
ahead of him were from NJ, Kevin Olsen at Miami & and PJ Walker
who starts for Temple ) his arm was on par w/both. Has a quick
release. Also take a look at Ferreira's video, the one I saw was
his junior yr. Just a glimsp at the future, might answer your
question about QB recruiting this year. I like both, slightly
       favor Otranto.

Bingo!!!!! Now thats exactly what SB needs for a
Q!!!!!.........Yea, I remember AJ from last year with
Floyd...... He also played in the Empire challenge game in NYC.
Hopefully he gets some serious consideration next year for the
starting Q position because even with all the injuries this team
sustained this year, SB should not be a 3 and 5 team.. A lot of
that has to do with our Q, among other issues !!!
