We can win this only if we win the line of scrimmage.. If
Buffalo wants to put 9 men in the box then we throw the ball for
huge yardage. If they drop back 7, then we better be prepared
to open holes for Coker or Negron to run through.. Thats how I
see it.
I won't be able to watch the game on Saturday but, I will surely
be watching ESPN3 rerun later at night !

I should have heeded your warning, Hammer. But, alas, I didn't
and watched that awful thing--UGHH!!!!!!! Two things of note,
however:
1) Look at the time of posession in the stats. SBU ran away
with that statistic. My guess is that they're even better at
controlling the clock these days.
2) I gotta believe that the Seawolves have a MUCH, MUCH better
defence (especially the secondary) than they did in those days.
In light of these two realities, I genuinely believe they have a
real chance to pull off the upset--especially if the OL has any
kind of success at all in creating holes for Marcus.

Agreed. Our starting FS in that game was a redshirt Sophomore.
He graduated in the spring and didn't come back for his RS
senior season because he wasn't going to be in rotation this
fall. (I don't want to beat up on him because he seems like a
nice kid, but you'll notice him missing tackles on most of those
big Oliver running plays)
It's also worth remembering that Coulter was playing on a torn
ACL in that game.

commanded that game... essington turned out to be one of my fav
players. He really made the team better surpassing my initial
expectations....

Brandon Lawrence from the sportsnetwork predicts SB will beat
Buffalo 28/20.
This guy has a very good track record predicting FCS games. Lets
hope his success continues on Saturday!!

you all will be heartened by this prediction for our weekend
match-up with Buffalo from Sports Network.
No. 17 Stony Brook (1-0) at Buffalo (0-2)
Kickoff: 3:30 p.m. (ESPN3.com)
What to know: Last week, we got to see Stony Brook in action as
a first-year member of the Colonial Athletic Association, as the
Seawolves took on Rhode Island. This week, against Buffalo, we
get to see Stony Brook play in a not- so-sure-thing game.
Buffalo comes into Week 3 with an 0-2 record, but to be fair, it
dropped those two early games to Ohio State and Baylor. There
are few teams in this country that would walk away 2-0 against
those early opponents.
Buffalo needs to slow down opposing offenses; last week giving
up 781 net yards offensively to Baylor. Stony Brook has a
tough-to-contain offense as well, and the Subdivision label
shouldn't count for much here. This could be a very close game.
Seawolves Chuck Priore has done a great job bringing in FBS
transfers over the past few seasons, so this team knows what to
expect.
Prediction: Stony Brook 28, Buffalo 20

If SB Football actually pulls off an upset over Buffalo then I
think we've begun the process of being a CAA powerhouse and
gaining respect and attention they deserve. VILLANOVA WHO
?????????
