Negron's biggest issue seemed that he didn't commit to throwing
until the WR was open. One throw in particular was a deep ball
to Eugene. He was wide open, but Negron held it until he beat
the CB outright, which gave the FS a chance to make a play.
Against Penn or CCSU, not big deal. Against Villanova, that
won't fly.
It reminded me a lot of watching Jason Campbell in the NFL. He
could make the throws, but was so scared of making a mistake
that he ended up being much worse than he could have been. I
understand that yes, turnovers are bad, but if you didn't have
the talent to make the throws, you wouldn't be starting.
The running game is legit. Add in a good mid-level passing game
and the team is VERY dangerous.

I agree S97, Williams looks real good. He would be a nice
change up with Coker. Let's let Negron get a gm or two under his
belt before we can give an honest critique. I think D'Amato has
some gm and I have heard some really good things about him. I
think we will see him at some point and that might be sooner
than later. Tye should really help the passing gm.

sounds like many of you are being way too tough on Negron.
according to Coach P on the website, he said he was very
impressed with the QB play. in addition, this note was placed
on the website story, I'd say Negron did pretty well: " Negron
finished the game 6 of 9 for 117 yards. Williams totaled 51
rushing yards"

WE really need to give a big applause to the entire FCS this
opening week.. Another upset in the books last night and this

You may be right that we're being tough on Negron. If the goal
is to keep INT's to a minimum, let the run game and defense win,
then he looked great. IE, we're only looking at him as a game
manager.
If the goal is to have a two-pronged attack, have the passing
game be a threat in addition to the run game, then I have
concerns.
It really comes down to perspective and the general goals for
the position.

hey guys i havent been commenting because i missed the
scrimmage, but im here in sunny south carolina reading your
comments all day. thanks for the input, you guys are the best,
and just like i said last year: i cannot WAIT to see jawara
dudley come up through the gap and crush someone. it will be
the most satisfying day of the autumn for me. and the autumn is
usually a satisfying time for the chairman... GO SB
