I had no time to listen to the game on the Radio. How did Will
Tye do, what about Poteat, Negron, Coker, Eugene ??

Poteat had negative yards for the day. That's all I have to
say about him. Will Tye was a boss. Negron seemed to be pretty
confident in the pocket. Coker had an alright performance, not a
Maysonet type. Jamie Williams looked good. I can't find any
stats right now, I just listened to the broadcast. It seemed
like a rusty performance.

Was at the game along with about 100 SB fans. Main issue for
running game was that our O line got no push against the Rhody D
line. Coker stopped many times for no gain or small gains. He
did manage to break a few nice runs, but O line has to shape up
big time or next week at buffalo will be bleak. Coconut is
awesome. Was continually open all day, made DBs look foolish
and caught a nice TD. D in general was very good, tho we rarely
got pressure on their QB. That will need to get better for us.
LBs and DBs played well for us. Nice strip fumble by max
Martinez on a breakaway that looked like it might go to the
house. Some key penalties killed drives. It was a bit scary
with only a 10-0 lead at half. Lots of work to do this week
before buffalo.

Negron was 12-19 186yds 1td (7 rushes for 75). Coker 23-79 td,
Coxsen 3-40 td, Eugene 3-40+, Tye 2-42. Jaimie Williams td.
Cheeseboro 9 tkls (5s 4a). Wheeler also had 3 rec, I think it
said 30-40 yds. Coker had 90 yds but he must have lost 12 on one
play or a couple.

I have to believe they are still little rusty. Our is pretty
solid pitching a shut out. Buffalo got demolished at Baylor
70-13 last time I looked. Their starting QB went out with an
injury but their running backs can run and they have a great WR.
We need our A game next week.

BFF... Could you elaborate a little more about the Offensive
line. That is a huge concern to me if what you're saying is
true. Last year SB had one of the strongest O line in the FCS
with Big Mike, now we have Dokes who is just as big and coming
over from Pitt, you would think he would fill that void nicely!!

Hammer: Doakes is playing guard. Did not get the get the names
of our starting tackles. Here is what I saw. On outside runs,
we did not often control the edge, so Rhody DEs and LBs were
able to get in the backfield and stop run for a loss or no gain.
As someone else wrote, Coker was stopped for a six yard loss on
one play when blocking completely broke down on the edge.
Inside run blocking was disappointing. Rarely did our runners
get to the second level by running inside. Usually they were
stuffed at the line. With that said, you can see how good Coker
is when he gets a gap to run through or a Sean to glide into on
the outside. LBs and DBs have a tough time bringing him down
once he hits the second level. Negron looked pretty good, as
his stats show. He missed a couple open bombs when he over
threw coxson or Eugene. Attribute that to first game jitters.
On our first O play of game, negron rolls out to pass and
instead runs for about 65 yards, weaving among defenders. He
definitely likes to run if his first pass option is not there.
Defenders will have to take that into account.

Also, Wolfie and the SBU band were there, so we had a lot of
spirit going during the game!
