       Baseball 2012

The 2012 seawolves lose pitching ace Nick Tropeano, SS Chad
Marshall, and 3rd baseman Stephen Marino. But the cupboard isn't
bare as we return 6 players who were invited to play in the cape
cod league this summer including three cap all stars (Tyler
Johnson, Pat Cantwell, Travis Jankowski) including the the Capes
mvp (Jankowski). They still have two stud pitchers in Johnson
and McNitt who had era's of 2.3 and 2.03 respectively last
season. It should be another good season.

I Hope Nick makes it to the majors one day. He was one great
pitcher. It was sad to see the season go away the way it did.
Yes, we still have very good players left. Hopefully they
compete well this upcoming season. Our players did awesome over
the summer. We had more players in the Cape league than other
       major teams in the NCAA

Senk signed a guy from one of the boroughs...a catcher (I
think)...who the NY Post said was probably the best hitter in
NYC. I don't recall his name, but sounds like he may become
       another big gun like Carmona.

He came from Tottenville HS on Staten Island. Very highly
touted, and ranked the #1 player in NYS. His name escapes me,
but is a good friend of my cousin's. The kid's an academic and a
       fantastic player.

May be the first time any SB team has signed a #1 prospect in a
       sport from any state.

SB baseball should be especially exciting this season. This from
       Baseball America:
"Who is the team not currently in the top 25 that could
       potentially surprise in college baseball?
Aaron Fitt: I'll go with Stony Brook. I honestly will not be
shocked if the Seawolves win a regional. Travis Jankowski is the
best player in the North, and maybe the best all-around
outfielder in college baseball, and they've got a lot more than
just him. Willie Carmona is a valuable two-way guy, Maxx
Tissenbaum and Pat Cantwell are really good players at
up-the-middle spots, and Tyler Johnson-Brandon McNitt should be
a real nice one-two punch on the mound. Stony Brook guys were
pretty outstanding all around the Cape last summer — they're not
       intimidated by quality competition."
