I like it; 25-30 carries per game for Coker. Opposing LBs will
have to deal with THAT. I also like that Priore's offense is
slightly old school, if not very. GO SB

so we just need QB Negron to be a competent game manager this
       season. ???
No heroics required from the QB position.

       > BFF, I agree, a little with that. I wanna see Negron arm. I
wanna see if he can throw 40+ yards with accuracy. I also wanna
see if he can scramble in the pocket something Essington could
not do. if negron can do all three then we will be in the
       Playoffs this year, again..
       >
       > I know SB is a heavy running team but These other schools in
the CAA will be looking for the run on every down and will stack
the box with 9 and 10 guys, if we could throw the ball a little
more this year then last year, that will open that box for Coker
and Poteat to run for huge yards.

Hey Hammer, I agree with you. I hope that Negron has the skill
set to allow Coach P to open up the passing game a bit. the
CAA opponents will be sitting on our running game since its our
bread and butter game plan. they will be stuffing the box if
we cant show that we have a competent passing game. Negron ran
the ball a fair amount at Bakersfield JC in his last season
there . so that is a good sign. I know that Hernandez is a
running QB. Not sure about D'Amato. Bednarski looks like a
pro-style pocket/roll out passer to me.

This seems to be the kind of quarterback Stony Brook has been
recruiting. I think they're all pocket guys that won't
necessarily look to run, but can if nothing is there. I THINK
D'amato is considered the better athlete than Hernandez, a
little more dangerous on the move but in the same fold as the
       others.
Also Priore said on the Wusb Sports section the other day that
Bednarski has a redshirt season, and he'd like for him to be
able to use it this fall. So look for one of the redshirt frosh
to take take the #2 spot this fall.

I love this new feature! it's the kind of thing I've always
wanted to do on this message board, but didn't feel I knew
enough about the program to really do it right.

Negron beat Villanova last year in the playoffs. They knew we
were going to run and run we did . They just couldn't stop it.
Let him throw 10-12 passes a game for now.

I attended todays fall practise and i was very, very impressed
with Arthur Dokes. Everyone on this board really liked big Mike
for obvious reasons, but wait until you guys see Dokes. Big Mike
was fine with his blocking abilities but when it came down to
following thru with his blocks, I think he falls short in the
dept. I've watched every tape I can find on Mike and if there is
a weakness that is one of them. Dokes on the other hand is very
fast for his size, follow through with his blocking, he will
move 2 or 3 players out of the way like a bulldozer and he
continues to block 10 yards up field.. He also has really quick
hands and feet. This should make for another great season of SB
football and their running machines !!!
Negron and D'Amato looks really strong today.. I think Negron
should past MY TEST in regards to his throwing and scrambling
ability's.... I also like Will Tye.. This guy can run and catch
and when he runs after the catch, he is a machine down field....
       .
