I understand why we are ranked 24. we indeed have a lot of
question marks. lets see how it pans out. Lets go Seawolves

Francessa wearing Seawolves apparel? Awesome!
Preseason rankings don't bother me too much. Every game in this
conference is going to be fun. To be honest, the Big South games
got boring after a while because the Seawolves just beat teams
on talent alone. I like seeing good football and we're gonna get
plenty of it this year.

I too understand why we are ranked so low this year... With the
graduation of Maysonet, Essington and Norrel and Bamiro..... We
all really don't know what Negron can do !!!!!!! Is he good. Is
he bad, or is he just ok..... I think coach Priore should
unleash Negron when we play our very first game . RI, and see if
he can throw 4 touchdowns and run for another touchdown just to
prove these Coaches who Ranked us at 24, they were wrong.. I
would love to see us score 60 points in our very first game....
Thats would get attention in the CAA in a hurry !!!!!

I stopped by lavelle today to watch a little football and i
noticed Poteat was on the sidelines with no pads on, not sure
why...

He could be banged up. I heard that the new WR from Idaho is
very very good, just needs time to learn the playbook

Hammer, Seawolf, are you going the scrimmage tomorrow. I heard
that Bednarski will be back in the QB mix tomorrow after missing
a week of practice with an injury.

Do not be surprised if Bednarski is a redshirt. He likes to do
that with these JC guys. It gives him 3 guys with multiple years
of eligibility to compete for the job next year ( Damato 3yrs,
Hernandez 3yrs, and Bednarski 2yrs ). It would be a waste of a
year on Bednarski if he is not competing for the starting spot.
This again is what I see based on what Priore has done in the
past.

I was at the scrimmage today. My take aways (which don't count
for much):
1. Negron will be fun to watch. There were some plays I'm sure
he wants back, but he's the first Stony Brook quarterback I've
seen that looks like he could be more than just a game manager.
I think there will be times that he'll make us pull our hair
out, but I also think he'll make plays Coulter and Essington
couldn't/wouldn't.
2. I was really impressed with James Kenner. He looked like the
clear #2 back today.
3. Some true freshman were getting a lot of reps namely Dennis
Lestrange at TE, Allen Singleton at DT, Quintin Littlejohn at
CB, Reggie Allen at S. It'll be interesting to see if these guys
are ready to contribute right away.

sbufan. Did you see #50 Dl Dimitry Russ go down. Looked like a
concussion .. Do you know if he was a starter... I thought
todays scrimmage was a bit lame. Nothing earth shattering to
speak of except Eugene looked good in the WR dept. Coker did not
play , I wonder why, and Poteat was nothing to talk about !

I was there too, got there super late and missed the first team.
Here's a quick article with some pics
(
HTML http://tinyurl.com/kblzz97).
I'm eager for some real game action. From what I saw of the
second team, we'll have solid depth this year. I have no idea
what's up with Bednarski but I haven't seen him throw a pass in
the two scrimmages I went to. I'm always impressed with how big
the O-line is here- Bamiro was the biggest but we have some
serious muscle.
FYI, I got a new lens for my DSLR and its taking great pics. I
can't wait till the season starts so I can get some real game
action. I'll probably make a Flickr account or something to host
all of my images in full resolution eventually.
