2013 Stony Brook Seawolves football pre-season: News, Prediction
s, discussion
By: ecasadoSBU Date: July 22, 2013, 3:36 pm

Hello guys. The 2013 season is a bit more than a month away. The
excitement is building and I've decided to start the thread for
the season early on. Lets get the discussion started.
How many wins do the Seawolves earn as first year members of the
CAA?
Do we make it to the FCS playoffs for a third-straight year?
Who wins the battle of the SUNYs?
Will our team be top three in the CAA?
This is just a few questions to get the talk started. Lets go
Seawolves. I can't wait!

I say the Seawolves lose 1 at the most. Certainly, the answer
to all Ecasado's other questions are resounding yesses!!
BTW, is it known yet whether the Penn scrimmage will be a
regular rules game, or whether the QBs might be protected by
being off limits on drop-backs?

My Heart said we win it all, but lets be real fellas. Does
anyone on this board really know how Negron,,, assuming he will
be our starting Q, will perform ? Does he have a strong arm. Is
he accurate..Is he a pocket passer. Is he a double or triple
option Q. If yes to 2 out of the 3 then yes, we will make the
playoffs.. I only wish we saw more of him perform last year..
This is what makes College Football great, it's the unknown !!!

Here is the CAA regional tv schedule for all schools:

There is one slot open for the last day of the season for
Rivalry week game
If we are on top and Albany has a great season maybe we can pick
up a third game... very unlikely but lets see how it turns
out...

What !!?? our scrimmage with Penn is not going to be televised?
IMHO, Negron is a big unknown. I can tell you this, he is not a
triple option QB, cuz we don't run that kind of offense. Coach
P is smash mouth football, running between the tackles. From
what I know of the situation, Negron may be the heir apparent,
but he still has to "win" the job in training camp. I am sure
that Bednarski, Hernandez and D'Amato will be ready to push him.
but with the kid being a 5th year senior, its his job to lose,
so to speak.

The QB situation and our kicking game ( Skiffington is gone )
could be a real concern. Hopefully I'm wrong , other than
that we are in good shape. I say we finish in the top 3 in
the CAA.
