I think we surprise some folks this season. In 2013 I can see
a very good team for the Wolves. We will win our share in
2012.

I said it and I will say it again as many times as I have to. If
there is one thing Stony Brook always is ready to compete on
that would be Men's lacrosse. This team will be good, I feel it.
I dont know if they are going to make it as far as the 2010
group in the NCAA QF but my expectations remain high. We should
be competing for a AE tournament championship once again. I know
we lost many of our outstanding guys, But the new guys coming in
sound promising.
This team has consistently been good and I have my hopes that
things will sort out for the best. I can't wait for our Home
Opener. Last season's home opener was fantastic under the
freezing weather.
GO BROOK!!!

Ok so now that we are one scrimmage closer, and have read some
coverage, here's my next best guesses at a starting lineup:
ATT- Andreassi, Bellando, Tundo
MID- Bonanno, Campbell, Adams
MID2- Belton, Dahms, Zorn, Duddy
FO- Pelella (X), LeVerne (SSDM), Laforet (LSM)
DEF- Moeller, Wawrzyniak, Judge
GK- Keneally
Again, these are guesses. From a fan.
I have to say, from seeing them play once in the fall and
hearing Nagle's comments from this week, i think there isnt
going to be the giant dropoff from last year. Time will prove
as Fairfield is a pretty solid team and we scrimmage Princeton
and Adelphi first.

There's definitely plenty of talent on this team, that's for
sure. I know the scrimmages weren't against the most rigorous of
opponents, but it sounds like the guys played well and that was
without Tundo who I think will most likely be an All America
East attackmen given his play at Ohio State.

Speaking of Tundo, he's on the very early Tewaaraton watch list:

Clearly, they are relying on his days at tOSU, and not the
scrimmages!

After last season I was so nervous about the Attack line in 2012
but Nagel did a great job getting Tundo and Andressi via
transfer, Watson from Team England, to go along with Belton,
Bellando and Rooney. I was thinking Bonanno was going to have
to play attack this year. Glad he is a middy.

So how are do some of you feel about the team right now? The
team struggled again facing off and the stats suggest that Brady
struggled a bit against UVA but I wouldn't be surprised if
Virgina was just getting really good looks. Surprised to see
that Feeney started on D. It almost seems to me the biggest
difference between this team and the teams last two years is
Rand winning 60% of the faceoffs. Both of these games might have
looked a lot different with all those extra offensive
possessions.

A few thoughts- and yes i agree with all said-
-Yes, Rand is turning out to be a bigger loss than others
-Even Reinert and Greene is turning out to be a bigger loss than
others
-Dont forget that Legall played great defense at midfield, and
Trenkle was great at settling the team on offense
Now, looking forward-
-Brady will get the job done. By my count i thought he had way
more than 5 saves
-Moving Laforet back to pole may help with the faceoff, but we
need to get Moeller some help down low
-Belton has answered the call, get him on the field more.
Rooney too.
-Teams are focusing on Campbell with the early slide because
he's the guy with the #s that they know about
-Watson is a better ball carrier than everyone except Bonanno.
Give him the ball, less Campbell
I dont know where to put Adams for now; he's a cutter/finisher,
probably belongs in the crease. If so we need to keep him on.
Virginia beat us to 12 goals simply because we slid early
(rightfully) and our second slide was fine and the third
rotation was frequently late. This is NOT to say we did it bad;
this is how Starsia wins. 141 with quick ball movement and the
feet cant keep up with the ball.
I think weve tried Laforet, Duddy, Andreassi, Pelella, Smith,
and Judge at the faceoff. We need to fix this immediately,
though we have Lucatuorto coming in next year.

Really need alot of work. Faceoffs, turnovers and dumb
penalities killing us. We were spoiled the last few years.

Now I see why our previous coach Sowell jumped to Navy. He knew
that it was his last chance considering we were going to lose a
lot of talent. The team is struggling, 0-3, and doesn't look too
good. I just hope they can improve by the time the conference
season comes around
