Couldn't hang on in the 2nd half. VCU is a very good ,
talented team . The announcers were more than kind to us as far
as the potential of our program and our coach .

As good a first half as we could hope for. VCU just too deep
for us to ever make a run once we went down. You could tell we
were gassed. The announcers were more than fair. Some of the
best we have had. The guys from Detroit were very good also.
Let's get Columbia and move on to conference play. We have the
most talented team in the league by far.

VCU gets better recruits, three and four star guys. We get two
star guys, except for Warney, who is maybe a three. That is the
almost the entire difference, with a nod toward home court
advantage too.
Of course we are the academically superior school by a wide
margin, even though SB is underrated. SB standards are higher.
So there's that.

I haven't read everything because, well, it is all the same
thing over and over. We're frustrated we aren't marquee wins,
meanwhile our idea of a "marquee win" changes as the program
continues to have more success.
Honestly, I agree with all the disgruntled fans- I want to
finally win the game we don't think we should win. At the same
time, it is somewhat absurd, as a fanbase, that we're frustrated
we're losing games we are expected to lose.

sorry I'm not more eloquent - I'm tired (and drunk). We have
some great fans and I'm proud of our community. lets continue to
respect our players/coaches and raise awareness to the great
things happening at our university!

Unfortunately this is not the breakout season many of us
expected. SB is still just a "good" mid-major team...not another
Gonzaga or Butler like we hoped. I thought Warney would push the
program over the top. I think we'll win the conference, get a 16
seed (maybe 15) to the NCAA tournament, and go one and done.
Nothing wrong with that, but hopefully bigger and better things
next season.

The good news is we will probably have 20 plus wins by March
and either the NCAA or the NIT will be waiting. I started
following this program pre Coach P when 20 wins was a fantasy
unless you added up 3 or 4 seasons of wins. We have gotten
much better and getting good venues to play MSG twice .
Keep the good recruits coming, keep up our strong academics
and we will get there.
