I'm betting it will be. Both teams will be pretty seasoned as
it's in January right before the conference schedule starts up.
Was happy to see Warney and Coley make the AE preseason first-
       team.
Hoping Stony Brook finally breaks through to the NCAAs this year
       as well.

Hey guys! Just bought my tickets for the VCU game! Does anyone
want to meet up in Richmond prior to the game? I'm not familiar
with the area but my friends and I are interested in going to a
bar before the game or something to that extent. Anywho, go
       Seawolves!

VCU is vastly over rated and is nothing like their teams of the
past. They like to press and create havoc. I expect that
strategy will allow us easy buckets all night long. They have
no real post presence and will likely try to match up with
Jameel with some skinny athletic type. Jameel will dominate in
the post. When they go with some gimmick to try and stop him I
expect Eric to explode for several dunks. VCU's next "good" win
this season will be their first. Their OOC is a total joke. Im
sure at 9pm on a Friday night the VCU fans will be all drunked
up so I will give them a slight nod for home court advantage.
Our talent and their home court make this game a pick em. VCU
will be lucky to finish .500 in the Atlantic 10 this year.
LaSalle who we dominated for a half is better than this team.
Im a bit bummed about the storm coming in. I was going to make
the road trip but we decided not to with the tough driving
       conditions.

After doing a bit of research I am second guessing my decision
not to go. Apparently the Baja Bean Co. has some game day
       specials.
HAVOC THREE hours for jan 3rd..game
90 minutes tipoff .180 this week..
of every HOME and AWAY game.
       $1 Coors Light Pints
       $2 Pint of Margarita
$2 Pavs (peach schnapps, ginger and OJ)
$2 Swiss (Pinnacle pineapple vodka, sierra mist, splash of sour,
oj, pineapple, and grenadine on the bottom)
       $2 Sailor Jerry
       $2 Mini Beers (Ask Matt)
       99 cent Cheddar Cheese Quesadillas
While this is not the fine dining that we are used to in the
capital of the free world I am sure the local Richmond fare has
that colloquial feel that wouldn't be too harsh on our refined
pallets. Let's all meet up at this place a couple hours before
the game with our Seawolves red on. We will make the place a
Stony Brook joint for the evening. Who know - maybe after our
big win there they will become a permanent Stony Brook
       establishment.
       Go Seawolves!

I hope all you said is true Salty. Let's get em!!! I don't have
the money or a car to make the trip. But I will be cheering from
home watching on TV. This past couple of weeks have been pretty
       empty without Seawolves basketball

The game will tell the story, but I thought it was slightly
ironic given Stony Brook hasn't done anything in the OOC and
really has nothing close to a good win while VCU has 3 wins over
ACC programs (UVA, Virginia Tech, and Boston College) and a
decent road win at Belmont (who beat top 25 North Carolina on
the road). VCU's non-conference SOS is 115 in the country while
       Stony Brook's is a sparkling 298th.
Your wins aren't notable at all: Marist, D3 Haverford,
Northeastern, FAU, Detroit in 3OT, Fairleigh Dickinson, New
       Hampshire, Loyola MD, and Cornell.
Stony Brook has not beaten a D1 team with a .500 record to this
point. All 8 D1 wins are versus sub-.100 teams. You have lost to
every .500+ team you have faced so far. 5 of Stony Brook's 8 D1
wins are against teams that already have 10 or more losses (3-10
Northeastern, 4-10 Florida Atlantic, 3-10 Fairleigh Dickinson,
2-10 New Hampshire, and 0-12 Cornell).
Stony Brook has competed with, but not beaten a good team to
this point. The combined record of D1 opponents they've beaten:
27-75 (.265). That's putrid no matter how you frame it.
The combined record of the 4 D1 teams Stony Brook has lost to:
37-16 (.698). So we know Stony Brook loses to good teams and
       beats bad teams.
While we may have no one who is quite as good as superstar
Jameel Warney we do have a 6'9, 255-pound "skinny athletic" type
in A-10 preseason first-teamer and Wooden Award Candidate
Juvonte Reddic in the post. He was an attendee at both the
LeBron James Skills Academy and the Amar'e Stoudemire Big Man
Skills Camps this past offseason. He also happens to be on NBA
radars (#46 in 2014 NBADraft.net Mock Draft) and Tim Hardaway
Sr. will be at the game tomorrow as a NBA scout to watch him.
Ken Pomeroy predicts an 86% chance of a VCU (#30 KenPom) victory
tomorrow against Stony Brook (#106 KenPom) with a 12-pt. spread
and a score of 78-66. A loss to Stony Brook would be by far
VCU's worst loss of the season and first 'bad' sub-100 RPI loss.
A win by Stony Brook would be by far your best of the season and
first 'good' top 100 RPI win, and also your first win over an
opponent who actually has a winning record.
