still want to see the blackouts... bingo, BC, VT, and albany
       have done it!
i did some more reading on the expanded tourney-
  HTML http://www.laxmagazine.com/college_men/DI/2012-13/news/092513_mens_ncaa_tourney_expanding_in_2014
quick analysis- 10 AQs and 8 ALs. Bottom four play in and then
       a normal 16 team tourney.
without doing a lot of deep analysis- doesnt that mean that the
bottom four teams- regardless of AQ or AL- will be in the play
in? so its likely then, that unless a team from the A Sun, AE,
MAAC, and NEC does well enough to get in at large (perhaps?),
those will likely then be the bottom four spots. just thinking
ahead because i read that the MAAC already moved its conference
tourney up a few days so that it could make way for the play-in
       game.

its obviously very early- but i like to keep an eye on our
schedule because how they perform is important to our power
rankings. which then determines at large bids, seedings or
matchups in the NCAAs, or even now with the play in format.
as it stands now, UA, MD, Duke are top 10 teams and depending on
the poll you look at, maybe UA is 11 in some. St Johns and
Fairfield are just inside the top 20. Thats gives us as of now
5 opportunities to knock off a top 20, but of course, beating
SJU or FU could likely take them outside.
And keep an eye on Marist- they are doing the Colorado sweep
this wkd- could possibly pick up one or two good wins.

UMBC just edged out monmouth in its inaugural game, and Rutgers
is up 6-4 on Virginia in C-ville in Q2.
i watched both cuse/md and drex/UA. couldnt see much in the
albany feed. i think drex held the ball a lot and struck when
the time was right. they shot well. note that it was 5-5 at
half; they somehow kept UA to only 5 goals in one half.
cuse was looking good up 4-2 against MD. then the drought- 14-2
run made the score 16-6. MD offense is a bit methodical and
boring, but they protect the ball and the clock and win every
faceoff. at one point they scored 4 in about 50 seconds.

Tough, but expected loss yesterday. It's nice to have
Shaunghnessy and Andreassi back in the fold though to add to our
depth. The Marist loss looks worse now that they got rolled
this weekend by Denver and Air Force. Rutgers up next...hoping
the team can gt by to .500.
