Ellis should be great but I can't see him gettting a ton of run
this year with Millican and Captain Rock at SSDM

point well made, but, if some teams run us (read, albany and
duke) we will need a breather in there for our starters. also
we may want to make use of someone with his athleticism on a
faceoff, if not a pure d-mid (get guys some breathers in a high
scoring game). or perhaps use him on man down. or a special
       clearing situation. just some ideas.
then something crazy could happen, like millican playing some O,
perhaps ellis running some o-mid, etc. the midfield looks
pretty jammed up on that side but you never know who will land
where. i remember reading that luca was playing pole, cerasi is
back to a pole, curry had a pole, etc. you never know...
report back please! and ill owe you beers at the bench. note
       the plural.

I stopped by for part of both Stony Brook scrimmages. Please
chime in with corrections as I'm trying remember numbers and
       then put names to them.
Stony Brook jumped out with a quick 4 goals against monmouth.
The stony brook starters (offensive atleast) left the game with
8 so minutes left in the first quarter and never came back.
Stony Brook scored first against Nova before giving up 6 goals
on what seemed like 6 straight possessions. The Seawolves worked
their way back into it and at half they were only down 6-4. I'm
not sure if Nova (or Stony Brook) had gone to their bench yet.
At attack starters were Easty, Schultz, Sichenzia with Rooney
rotating in off the bench. Matt Schultz really stood out. He was
very active dodging and having a good deal of success with it. I
think he had 3-4 points and I probably only saw him play for 15
minutes. Eastwood's Eastwood and found the back of the net on a
       couple occasions.
At midfield I believe the starters were Rogers, Hughes, (Reh?).
The second line may have been Mahon, Balzano, and Cunningham.
Andreassi wasn't dressed. Rogers looked like rogers and had a
couple goals. Reh got a pretty goal on the door step against
       Nova.
I never got a good look at the defense. Feeney played a lot in
the first half against Nova. I believe Harris started at LSM but
Luca seemed to get a good amount pt.
I forgot how young this team is. Offensively Rooney and
Andreassi (not dressed today) are the ONLY upper class men on
the roster and they're both Jr's.

Stony Brook up 4-1 after the 1st quarter and 5 -2 at the half.
Basically, Nags played his entire team in the first half.
Watched the first half of the scrimmage against Monmouth and
       here are my quick observations:
Rooney (Attack / Midfield, #1, JR) - ran a little midfield and
played some attack. Seemed frustrated at midfield, so there is
no doubt will play attack this season and put up his usual
       numbers.
Reh (Attack, #5, RSFR) - this kid is a good athlete and should
be playing midfield and not attack.
Eastwood (Attack, #18, SO) - this kid is money - he can score
from anywhere within 8 yards of the goal. Another monster season
expected out of the Soph. from the Great White North.
Sichenzia (Attack, #26, SO) - super quick and great change of
direction - expect to lead the team in assists.
Schultz (Attack, 40, SO) - did not notice much from the Soph,
but expect some serious points for the upcoming season.
FOGOS - Lindsay (RSFR) and Rowe (FR) - there were only nine F/Os
in the first half and I think Stony Brook won the first 4 on
infractions then won 2 out of 5.
Bitzer (Midfield, #9, FR) - saw a few minutes and seemed
confident with a good shot. Could be a welcome surprise for the
       Seawolves!
Corpolongo (Midfield, #13, FR) - the Freshman seemed nervous,
but good size for a youngster.
Balzano (Midfield, # 13, FR) - small, but showed great change of
direction and a nice outside shot. The transfer from UMASS seems
to be a team favorite at the Brook.
Rogers (Midfield, #23, SO) - Played well in limited minutes. He
has unlimited potential and could be the best middie in the
       America East.
Wood (Midfield, # 31, SO) - only played a couple of minutes and
       seemed nervous.
Andreassi (Midfield, #32, JR) - did not play, but received a
scholarship award at halftime of the hoops game.
       Hughes (Midfield, #34, SO) - 6'3", 205 - an absolute beast and
adds nice depth to the midfield.
       Mahon (Midfield, #35, FR) - 6'3, 215 - another beast at midfield
with some nice moves and is definitely not afraid to shoot the
       laser.
Cunningham (SSM, #17, FR) - very physical and didn't show any
       nerves as a Frosh.
Rock (SSM, #22, SO) - played only a couple of minutes, but
       definitely showed some nice speed.
Ellis (SSM, #20, FR) - played several minutes and showed he had
the speed to keep up with the attacking player, but he is way
too skinny to be playing any significant minutes. It would be
       wise to red shirt him.
Lucatuorto (LSM, #36, SO) - no longer facing off. not many
minutes, but extremely physical and even had a take-away check,
which is very rare for the Wolves.
Harris (LSM, #44, JR) - definitely the best defender on the
       team.
Cerasi (LSM, #11, SR) - saw limited minutes, but not bad for a
       third string LSM.
Feeney (Defense, #7, SR) - solid positional defender.
Curry (Defense, #12, SO) - maybe the nicest surprise of the
game. Could be the their best defenseman by mid-season.
Fleming (GK, #39, SO) - the transfer didn't see much action in
the first quarter, but seemed solid.
Shaughnessy (GK, #2, SO) - not much action, but did let one in
       from over 15 yards out.
Johnstone (GK, #45, FR) - did not dress. I was disappointed not
to see the athletic keeper from Canada.

Johnstone recovering from stress fracture. Today was first day
without wearing the boot on his leg.

Ellis played at prep school last year so if he is redshirted he
will lose a yr of eligibility. I did notice that Curry was
listed as a defenseman, he has good size I like the move.

That blows...I was hoping he would compete for the job.
