Burnett seems to me like he's in a Lenny Hayes type doghouse. I
know it's not a disciplinary/grades issue, so either Pikiell is
convinced he can't play defense, or he's hurt.
I'm guessing he's going to transfer out to get at least SOME
playing time. He's logged 40 minutes this season (13 of those
against vs Haveford), and has seen a total of 4 minutes in
conference play. If i'm him, i'm checking out my options...
I'm not concerned and i'm very concerned about next year. It's
strange. I think we win 20+ games and finish top 2 in the
       conference. But I don't know if I think we're a tourney team.
As much as I rag on Pikiell for his game management issues, I
will admit that the dude can definitely recruit.

From guys I've talked to, there will be a day soon where we see
Burnett playing a major role on this team. Long, athletic build
with a great shot. Apparently he hasn't bought in on the
defensive side of the ball like Pikiell has expected. I would
think once we lose a Jackson/Coley to graduation we'll see a lot
more Burnett. Also Nyama is expected to start at the shooting
guard position next year. From what I can tell our depth chart
       will look like:
       PG: 1. Puriefoy 2. Thrower SG: 1. Nyama 2. Burnett/Mitchell SF:
       1. Walker 2. Braley 3. Sekunda(Redshirt) PF 1. McGrew 2.
       Sturdivant C 1. Warney 2. Mayo
By my math that leaves a spot available for a walk on. Wouldn't
be surprised if they try to find some help at PG depending on
Thrower's development. Just from playing with Nyama in rec this
kid's court vision, athletic ability and intensity is crazy,
even in a pickup game. Really excited.
Any thoughts on this depth chart?? Also do you guys think
there's a chance Pikiell might look for a transfer for PG help?
       Only one senior in Mayo.

It is amazing how the depth of this team will be next season.
Don't forget King. If he can keep out of foul trouble and play
a little inside that's another big up front. We know he can hit
3's but easy inside 2's would help.

Here's some of what the thinking is on Deshaun Thrower from back
in his home state of Michigan:

I think I've been remiss in not reporting on SBU's great
recruits coming in next year for awhile. So, here are their
results over the last several games:
       Deshaun Thrower: 20 Pts, 6 Assists 19 Pts., 8 Assists 28
Pts., ? assists (Muskegon HS is now 25-0)
Tyrell Sturdivant: 16 Pts., 13 Reb. 19 Pts., 10 Reb. hester
       HS is now 24-5)
Looking forward to seeing them both in the new arena.

Sbugold.. we're losing 4 to graduation and only getting 2 in
return. Are there 2 more recruits I'm not aware of?

Of the two other Seawolf graduating seniors, one is a
scholarship player and the other is not (Ben Resner).
Therefore, there is truly only one remaining slot. That will be
filled by the third recruit for 2014, Bryan Sekunda. He looks
to be an excellent sharp-shooting swingman that SBU is willing
to take a risk on, but he's currently going through a rehab year
after a knee injury. I think he's potentially an excellent
player, but will probably be reshirted next season to get his
shooting eye back and continue his reconditioning.
