And don't forget women's lax...yeah yeah I know. On the bright
side (if there is one), instead of one and done in the NCAAs,
perhaps they'll make a splash in the NIT and advance a few
games.

Lax i agree. Brenton was sleeping the last 2 games. I think his
Fan favorite award went to his head.. My 9 yer old son even knew
Black was going to be the one getting getting the ball the last
14 seconds. Why didn't Pikell put two gurads on him and take the
chance of him throwing the ball to the perimeter for a 3
pointer????????Instead he makes the layup. Sad indeed.
I hope we do better in the NIT....

Can't win the big games. Choked three of the last four years
when they were the best team. I think the "best in the
conference/sweeping the awards" meme might have made them a bit
overconfident.

Lets not let this loss take away our pride. We are all
Seawolves! It was tough to be yelled all sorts of crap by Albany
fans. But that's basketball. Passion, talent, and a bit of luck
is what makes College Basketball so special. Maybe our team
didn't play with those three in mind but No reason to feel down
about it. A loss doesn't outweight All the great times that we
had throughout the season. Lets go Seawolves
On to the NIT! ;)
For those that are still hurt. Stay away from the
BasketballForum for now. Those guys are being ****s. It is what
it is.
If we keep winning regular season championships the day will
come in which we make it to the NCAA and it will be more special
then.

Probably all kind of smack talk going on over at the Albanian
and Vermont boards. I just want to make a couple of points.
First, Pikiell's stock is going down. He was seen as an
up-and-coming young coach who is going to be scooped up by a
power conference team sooner rather than later. Uh uh, ain't
gonna happen anytime soon. Not only hasn't he gotten his teams
to the NCAA Tournament, but he hasn't even beaten a team from a
power conference (let alone a Top 25 team). Not once in all
these years. He'll be around SB for a while. The other point is
that hopefully SB can make an omelette out of this cracked egg
by winning in the NITs and making it to Madison Square Garden
for the NIT Final Four. THAT would be huge...bigger than "one
and done" in the NCAAs. At the VERY LEAST, they need to win
their first game in the NIT, which will be against a weaker team
(SB should get a decent seeding). If they lose that first game,
then there truly will be no joy in Pikiellville.

I think a number of the SBU sport nuts are very frustrated now,
not so much because they lost but because we all know SB
Basketball is much better then how they played last night. I
think 75 % falls on the coach and they other 24% on Brenton and
1 % on the rest of the team.. Pikell should have done a better
job on Offense and somewhat on Defense. yes, the second to last
play of the game was the defense but, the rest of the game fell
on the offense.. Why didn't Pikell let the boys throw more 3
pointers the last 10 minutes of the game? Why was Warney so
quiet? I don't know but the Brooks are a much better team then
what they showed last night and i think Pikell knows there is
tension in the air at the University and he should change some
of his styles and let the boys just show there true talent.
I think we go into the second round of the NIT, and Brenton will
be awake for that !!!!!!!

Hopefully we get a good seed in the NIT based on our previous
visits and our record . There will be some good programs we
could face from the power conferences. Would need to win two
straight at that level.
