What good is having a good Quarterback if we don't have quality
wide receivers..I did see that problem at the spring
practises..... It would be nice if we get a quality FBS Transfer
WR !!!

From what I saw I think they have to add some more info on that
roster and fix a few type o's. As far as rec goes we brought in
a few last year and now it is time to see if they pan out. I
know I keep mentioning his name but Nick Wagner from John Glenn
is a player. Word is that Vitale left cause he was behind
Wagner. This kid was 1st team all state. I have talked to his
H.S. coach ( who by the way started his coaching career at SB in
the nineties as a volunteer asst.) and he has inside info, and
he told me that Wagner will be looking at a lot of playing time.
Also Deshields is another one to keep an eye on. Hammer although
I value your insight it seems that you are falling in love with
FBS transfers. These kids can play, now it is time to put up. If
Priore thought he needed a WR he would have gotten one. Also
Steven Marino from Carey might get a shot. Kevin Norrell's do
not come around every day. This big recruiting class and the
addition of the the transfers will help in a few ways, mainly on
special teams. You will no longer have to use starters on
special teams, like two yrs ago when Jackolski and Maysonette
were covering kick offs. Last year Dudley was covering as well.
So Hammer my friend have some faith in who is doing the
recruiting, cause so far he has not let us down. Still looking
forward to tailgaiting with you, hopefully they add a cupcake
for the Aug 31st slot so we do not have to wait until the end of
Sept.

Chrissy, I value your insights, but I tend to agree with Hammer,
that our WR corps needs to be beefed up. we lost a good one in
Norell for sure. but I think that Coach P has to go out there
and get WRs excited about coming to SB and playing. we are
bringing in RBs left and right, and i am sure that is due to the
fact that we have a run-first O. but I am not sure our O, which
was good in the Big South Conf, will be able to get it done at
the top levels of the CAA without developing a potent passing
attack. that is my one beef with what I see developing right
now.

Priore will always be a run first coach. We will have no
problem running the ball in the CAA. Our line is bigger than
some FBS schools. It is what it is, SB runs the ball and will
continue to do so. I would like to see some more balance but
this system is working. You have to stick with your strength.
This will work in the CAA, will it win a national title, we will
see. Ball control, defense, good special teams is a simple
recipe for success. They did throw the ball more with Essington
than they did with Coulter. All I am saying is you have to give
these kids a chance or else why did you recruit them. I like the
transfers but I do not want to get to the point were they take
over the roster. That is the hired gun mentality. You want guys
to play with pride for the school, not come here cause they had
no choice. Being an alum I want them to win, but I prefer to win
with guys who bleed red. You need to really trust the system and
give these guys a chance to prove themselves cause they can
play. Maybe Coxsen proves me wrong but I sure didn't see much
last year that would tell me different.

Agreed there.
My opinion, but we are a blocking TE squad; not a receiving TE
squad. With Bamiro being a stud, the new transfer in on the OL
(i assume he contributes), and Coker and now Poteat, plus a new
TE coach, i say we smashmouth the opposition.
Not sure if losing Maysonet's outside threat will mean defenses
dont have to stretch as much.

Chairman, that is why you need a fully competent passing game,
to stretch the opponents Ds. especially if we've lost a key
breakaway runner. anyway, our passing game was very simple in
previous seasons, deep patterns to Norell, and some safe
sideline passes. not sure that will cut it in an more
competitive atmosphere of the CAA.

Yikes !!!! I guess as of today he is no longer a seawolf and
can't play for any NCAA school !!! What are we going to do about
filling in that HUGE hole in RT ?????

There's good news here too...SB gets another player into the NFL
this year. But sure, I would have preferred he play another year
for SB.

OMG!!! I guess it could be great news for the kid, if he
catches on somewhere. But, it certainly puts the Seawolves'
running game with Coker and Poteat in a bind.
I'm certainly not trying to draw any premature comparisons here,
of course. But, I think I asked some time ago why Lionel
Guillaume does not appear on the SBU roster. Does anyone have a
clue? I'm sure he's no Bamiro, but the OL is going to need all
the help it can muster!
