If the Jets had any brains they would bring him in. I mean look
at what they brought in Mike Goodson, not only a scrub, but a
thug as well.

here is an interesting read on the strength of the various FCS
confernces. CAA is ranked fourth in this listing. Stony Brook
really flying under the radar.

BFF. I think the Sports network has no idea how strong SB
Footbal is !!!!. This is our time to shine and show the CAA that
there is a new kid in town and he is NOT a little kid, and will
not be pushed around !!!! LOL...

I'm stoked about the addition of Poteat- I think he actually may
have more talent than Maysonet from a pure numbers perspective.
Let's see if he will have the vision of Maysonet. I'm happy to
finally have some free time to get back to writing about the
Seawolves again...even though its now summer. I'm moving back to
Stony Brook in the next few weeks and will hopefully will be
able to provide even more info when I get back!

see this link for SB's preseason ranking. seems a bit low to
me. and this website is picking SB to finish fourth in the
CAA....outrageous.
we throttled Nova in the playoffs last season, not sure how they
can be ranked above us.

WaS, thanks for another good read in the article on Poteat. But
your statement that the CAA is the most competitive FCS
conference doesn't ring true. Yes, it's WAY better than the BS
conference, but last year its Sagarin rating was only fifth
strongest. There are A LOT of very good teams in other
conferences out west.

BFF, I think the CAA voters were hesitant to give conference
newcomer SBU a higher pre-season ranking because SBU is, well, a
newcomer! It may just be a matter of allegiance to the more
established members. Just a thought.

BFF. At first thought, I agree SB Football got a raw ranking
but, I think SB comes out like hero's when they prove these
coaches wrong when we finish above the 4th spot in the CAA and
even make it into the Playoffs....... Lets come into this
conference like a bully and show them we are the new kid on the
block !!!!!!

While I have read this Board religiously for the past year, this
will be my first post. Wanted to point out that SBU coaching
staff lost a good one recently. RB Coach Patrick Hatch recently
left SBU for Yale, where he will be coaching TEs. While not yet
announced on SBU or Yale sites as best I can tell, check out his
twitter account. Hatch is a real talent as a coach and a
recruiter. He will be missed.
