Disappointing loss. Moral victories don't count anymore.
Unfortunately this was the last chance for the team to get a
high profile win this season.

Agreed. While I continue to be proud of the effort against these
high profile opponents, it is time we actually won a game like
this.
Perhaps this is a product of raised expectations, but we need to
close the deal in games like tonight. Having said that, if we
bring this
level of play to the conference schedule, we will be a tough out
for the rest of the America East.

Three bad plays down the stretch: Coley missing two free throws,
then missing the short jumper and SB not getting a good shot in
the final 17.4 seconds. Good, well coached, defense, but a
mediocre offense.

What sucks about losing such close games is the fact that it
kills the RPI. To know that you were so close to beating a team
and getting a nice RPI boost but not get the shots the last
minute of the game is terrible. If we make the NCAA this year
which I'm confident we can we will probably be a 16 seed (we
have the talent to make it but we no longer have a shot at a
decent seeding) . This team is arguably the best team we ever
had... but they still haven't proved it against the big boys
despite being so close.

No the worst thing is that they are a better team overall than
Seton Hall. They should not have lost that game.

1. RPI is irrelevant. We're a 1 bid league, and with good
performance in intraleague play we'll get a 15 or 16 seed.
Unlikely for SBU to be in the play-in game this year unless we
drop one to Bing/Maine/UNH/UMBC.
2. It's a wonderful feeling to know we can go toe to toe with
Seton Hall confidently - it's a huge deal, esp as someone who
watched this team get clobbered by D1 programs you've never
heard of.
3. I'm looking forward to seeing SBU in action at Manhattan, and
back home. Hopefully this and the Maryland loss put a thirst for
blood in their eyes.

Warney was dominated...2 for 10 from the field and no offensive
rebounds. It will be interesting to see how he responds next
game. Redwyn, I disagree about RPI. Vermont and Binghamton
(though they were thugs) received 13 and 14 seeds in the past
few years, so a 16/15 doesn't have to be automatic for an AE
team. A 16 or 15 seed is an automatic one and done. I for one
would be more excited knowing the Wolves had a chance of
actually winning a game in the tournament, but it won't happen
after the loss to SHU. I'm glad Pikiell didn't say after the
game that he was "proud of the guys" as was the standard
post-game quote in the past. He was disappointed with the loss.
Let's see if they can take that disappointment out on Manhattan
and come away with a good win.

Listen. I think SB played their hearts out and gave it all. Did
I think some players never showed up to play, yea ! Do I think
SH was a beatable team, yea. What I do think is SB is on the
verge of breaking out into the next level. Does any body get the
feeling they are just one short step away from playing the next
level? i do. I think next year will be the transition year they
do break away and start the transition into a better division.
ie" (Big East). or maybe not.. lol... or MAC...
