Stony Brook plays the University of Connecticut. After a great
day today with Doubleheader wins. We head out to Connecticut.
I'll be there with a group of five cheering for the wolves and
looking for a miracle. Lets go Seawolves
The following link has a great write-up by the Hartford Courant:
… And big dreams that have been proven possible. Stony Brook's
sprawling campus has more than 25,000 students. Its baseball
team pulled off a miracle last spring, reaching the College
World Series. The football team is playing in the FCS playoffs.
Lucy Van Dalen of its track team won an NCAA championship in the
mile run, and ran in the Olympics. There is a brand new $50
million recreation center, and coming in 2014, a $21.1 million
basketball arena. In the meantime, the current building has been
transformed into an impressive training facility.
"With such support, Pikiell says, a coach would be "in no hurry"
to look for a higher-profile job."...

Not a bad loss against UConn, especially considering they played
the day after Canisius. What was particularly impressive is that
the Wolves outrebounded UConn and blocked seven shots! There's
no substitute for a win, but hopefully they can follow up this
performance with a win at Cornell.

I will take an 11 point loss against U Conn after a tough game
yesterday. A few less turnovers by our guys and those 3's at
the end by the Huskies hurt. Hoping for a good win at Cornell

tough loss and the hostility of Uconn fans made it even worst.
It sucks being asked "Where is Stony Brook?" or hearing "same
result as two years ago" around you but I guess that's the
       reality...
At one point I started to believe with had a shot but then all
those 3PT FGs came around and took us out of the game...

An 11pt loss is perfectly fine by me. The team played solidly,
and to be blunt, I don't think any team in the America East is
going to be the caliber of UConn. That said, there are a few
teams the caliber of Sacred Heart, so I guess that's why they
       play the games.
Regardless, they played with a lot of confidence, and looked
very good both running an offense and not giving up cheap
buckets. As long as we don't bog down into "the burn" on
       offense, this team looks strong.

I watched the game against Indiana at this time last year and
the UConn game last night. Indiana last year and UConn this year
look very much the same in their size and style. I remember
thinking that Stony Brook was totally outclassed last year
against Indiana. This year, they actually looked like they
belonged on the same floor as UConn. Their ball movement and
athleticism were comparable. That's a good thing. Still can't
figure how the team that played last night lost to Sacred Heart.
They'll have a second chance at Sacred Heart before long.

Certainly not a game to be ashamed of, but judging by the
post-game comments, no one was happy by being close. You were
clearly competitive in the entire game, but the team seems
similar in some respects to last year. I'd like to see more
transition/easy baskets, and I think there are times that King
needs to be on the floor b/c of his ability to shoot the ball.
He's obviously not the best defender at the PF position, but
perhaps some zone can allow him more minutes? I also think you
need more production from the bench; where has Lenny Hayes been?
