Stony Brook under reported the attendance. Attendance was
atleast 7900... it sucks that it will go down in history as
4,900 but you gotta find ways to make money over the NCAA...
Homestand was standing room only (5000+), Away side was almost
packed but had people standing (2000+), and the endzone was
about 30% filled (not many students. I'll say 500-900)
       [/quote]
It looked a lot closer to 5000 than 7900. The entire endzone
section was pretty empty for the majority of the game. Sure
there were 100 or so crazy students there but the section was
basically empty. The away side was pretty packed but you could
get a seat in any section you wanted over there. When I think
packed I think of the NCAA Mems Lax Quarters they had there a
few years ago. That was 10,000 and it was PACKED. You couldn't
find a seat or a place to stand that wasn't 4-5 people deep.
I blame the weather, which was brutal and the holiday weekend.

Edwin just curious were did you get that number from, and also
what did you mean by that they have to make their money. Walking
around all day I would have to agree w/joewillie that it was
more like 5,000. Last yrs gm vs Albany I got to the lot at 11am
and it was almost full, this year it was pretty empty at 12pm.
The Albany number was more like 7,900. Also maybe you have more
insight than us older guys but it seemed that after the
homecoming gm that the student attendance went down. Being in
the lot the whole day there were alot of issues with fights
etc., so just wondering if the students got shut down a little
       bit.

I really believe attendance was 7000+ strong. People left after
the start due to the weather... but if I did my calculations
right we should have just about 7800-7900 show up there. I might
be wrong but there was definitely more than the reported
       attendance
Under reporting is very common in the NCAA playoffs and since we
didn't sell out it becomes much easier to pull it off. Its no
secret that you keep a larger share of the revenue if you under
       report to the NCAA...
