White Helmet?

Why in the world was #85 Tanner Nehls wearing a white helmet. I
mean it's not bad enough that they got spanked but the cherry on
top is one player wearing a different color helmet. Maybe
before they use that 5 million on the stadium they could buy
some back up helmets. They sell those helmets in Modells. I have
never seen that in any level of college ball. I know I'm not the
only one that noticed it.

Nehls' helmet was because it was a special concussion helmet.
Its delivery last week was delayed due to the hurricane, so he
wore it unpainted for VMI. He played very well, so out of
football "voodoo" it was left unpainted. It was a topic of
conversation during the WUSB broadcast last week.

Thanks for clearing that up Redwyn. I am all for safety and can
see why he wore it like that last week, but you can't wear it
like that because you played well in it. This is not little
league, and plus it was on TV. Not a huge deal but just looked
bad, and the reason was worse.
