I hate to say this, be we know how you feel. You guys have kept
us out of the playoffs two of the last three years with season
finale victories up your way. Hopefully your new friends in the
CAA have enough pull to help you guys out in the selection
process. Don't count on any assistance from your Big South
commish. I hope you guy get in with an at-large.
We have to win at VMI next week and hope that Coastal losing to
Chuck South for us to get in with the auto bid. The 3-way tie
goes to CCU once again under yet another stupid tiebreaker rule.
I don't see us losing to the Keydets but a Chants loss to CSU
in the season finale to bump them from the playoffs has a
       historical precedence.
For the record, the announcers were from the Big South and not
our Liberty crew. And count me among those who is glad we never
have to face Maysonet ever again.

sbufan - It is not good news that Colgate upset Lehigh. The
Mountain Hawks were in regardless and they just chewed up an
at-large bid that potentially could be needed for you guys.

Syracuse beat undefeated #9 Louisville. Thats a plus for us. Bad
games happen. Lets just be hopeful for an at-large or a Liberty
       loss

to Liberty for playing hard and beating us up.

       1. If they were Big South announcers, the league should be
ashamed of themselves for running such a blatantly partisan
broadcast. Not quite as bad as the Syracuse game, where their
HOF coach said on the air he was happy one of our guys got
injured. However - if it was meant to be non-partisan - it was
as non-partisan as Chinese politics. Nauseatingly bad. I get
that we're leaving the conference and there's likely to be some
unhappy parties, but not a great show if any Big South member
wants a game against us ever again.
       2. Liberty put on a great show, and looked like the team that
wanted this game. It was obvious that the administration,
coaches, and players have had this game marked on their schedule
for a while. Liberty did exactly what it needed to do, and there
should be no doubt about who won every aspect of that game.
Impressive controlling Maysonet. You may have just cost him the
       Payton.
       3. Take it to the bank - SBU is going to the playoffs this year.
We'll fall in the polls because of the loss, but our schedule
increases in quality weekly (ie. Syracuse, Colgate, and the
surprise Army win vs. Air Force) and it would be truly
surprising to see us left out. The Lehigh loss puts them in a
FAR worse position than us, esp since we have a win against the
same team. We'll be traveling, probably to a team like App
       State, but we'll get in.

Thanks, ecasado. We haven't lost a conference game at Williams
Stadium in over 6 years. Now you guys know why. It is a tough
environment and we even had an off night from an attendance
perspective of barely 14k in the house. Not sure, but that may
be our season low. We'll do better if we somehow squeak into
the postseason and put in a winning bid for home game in the
       first round.
While you guys are cheering on VMI, we'll be CSU fans for a week
       as well.

4 interceptions, a fumble, 11 penalties, and a bunch of drops.
You aren't going to win games like that. 33 carries by RB's for
100 yards doesn't help either. I'd comment on the game itself,
       but nothing else to say.
After this performance, I don't think we get an at-large. Our
"quality wins" are Army (FBS 2-8), Colgate (7-3), and Coastal
Carolina (6-4), with an ugly loss to Liberty and Syracuse (won
today over Louisville, so thats a minor help). I think back to
the '09 Liberty team, who had lost to WVU and JMU before losing
to Stony Brook to end the season. At the time of loss, they
were top 15, but the tight loss dropped them to #22 and knocked
       them out of the dance.
The primary playoff hope now is that Liberty somehow loses to
VMI next weekend (yeah, not very likely).
I'm hoping for an at-large, but I wouldn't be buying tickets to
       Frisco any time soon...
On a side note, it's kinda silly that Liberty had Mike Brown,
Summers, Chapman, and Bevins, and they couldn't make the dance.
Those guys graduate, and now they're a Coastal loss away from
going. I will admit if SBU doesn't get the auto-bid, I hope
       Liberty does.

yeah... BSOUTH game of the week, so they took our feed and used
their on-air guys. Trust me, it was better than normal. You
would have REALLY hated our guys.
Congrats on a fine season and a really amazing job with the
program up there. I live in the area (kinda) so I am more
familiar with you than most LU fans, but it's really impressive
what has been built at your place.
I don't see any way you guys DON'T get an at-large but then
again, we've been burned in the past too... Best of luck the
       rest of the way.

Didnt watch the game (wedding) but big time congratulations are
in order for the Flames- a big crowd (well, disappointing to you
guys!), lots of injuries yet pulled off the victory over #6 SBU.
Its like i was saying last week, the home team always wins this
       series.
The Big South tiebreaker is unfortunate, but as we discussed, it
was agreed upon by the coaches. Again, big time kudos to
Liberty. For us SB fans, this one stings. Bad. :-[

Stony Brook falls to #12 in the FCS TSN Poll.... More than
enough to get us in the 20 team Playoffs next weekend.
