Maysonet is not going to play WR in the NFL. I don't see were
you were going with that ?

Maybe he means slot. Let me try to explain this way- in an age
of "amoeba" defense and multiple players shifting formation on
offense, the wildcat, spread offense, etc. the lines are blurred
of who plays what.
Can you even identify the formation- on offense or defense- of
consecutive plays of an NFL team today??? Teams have QBs lining
up wide; right tackles moving next to the left tackle (wildcat);
triple tights; the four plus one (4 wide); the 46 defense with
the Sam and the Will on the same side; etc.
So maybe the point is, with all the presnap shifting, you can
have a guy like Maysonet in motion, wheel pattern from the slot
and be a viable receiver. While all at the same time, you can
keep him in the backfield and confuse defenses into whether he
is a running threat, route, or both. You can have him
conversely start in the slot, motion/shift into the backfield
for a sweep, or a lead.
With that said, sure, he's an RB.

He is a top 15 RB in the draft with his stock on the rise. He
is not playing WR. At worst he is a Danny Woodhead type. As
best, who knows but I wouldn't bet against him.
As a Jets fan I would start him today

Maysonet will get drafted as a tailback witch means he will
line up in the I or in a single back set. Yes he has the skills
to catch balls out of the back field. I understand defenses
since I played Def for SB back in the day. He will probably
return kicks as well. All I am saying is I did not understand
the reference to Wes Welker since he is a slot receiver and
Maysonet is a RB. I could see Brock playing a slot position if
he was given a chance, that is a better comparison.
I just do not understand such a long retort to a simple
question. Didn't know were he was going with that comparison,
that's all.

Maysonet is an interesting case. He can catch, but he's not a
stud receiving back. He's fast, but he's not going to blow
people away with his 40 time. He's strong, but not going to put
up 30 reps in the bench.
He's well above average in just about every area, but he's not
INSANE in any one. Some team will grab him in the mid/late
rounds, and he'll have a shot to do some damage in the NFL.
RB's in the NFL right now are really volatile right now. Things
have changed so much in the last 10 years, I think trying to
figure out what the league will look like is just a
fools-errand. Especially with the Patriots running that Oregon
offense now. My snap judgment is that its going to reconfigure
the whole league.

Maysonet is a great football player that does everything at an
NFL caliber level. 15+ scouts will not go watch him if he were
simply above average. What we are watching here is greatness.
The way Crowley dominated the lacrosse field is the way Maysonet
has dominated the football field. When he is done in the next
couple of months he will go down as the best player in SB
football history, hands down. It doesn't matter what offense
they run in the NFL, he will get drafted and play RB. He is a
special talent that will be hard maybe impossible to replace.
