2012: Game 6 - SBU vs Charleston Southern 10/6
By: ecasadoSBU Date: September 30, 2012, 8:41 pm

We are up to Week 6. The midpoint of the season and the opening
of conference play at home. Should be a great game and hopefully
a win.
Lets go Seawolves. Lets pack the stadium with atleast 6500 fans!

This will be an ugly game 54-0 2nd offense and defense plays the
entire second half, yes Charleston Southern IS AS BAD AS PACE...

Yep, Sagarin has them at 237 out of 246 D1 teams. I'd like to
see Maysonet get 150 yards quickly and have him rest most of the
second half, along with other key players.

I dont know much about CSo other than the few times ive seen us
play them in the past few seasons.
What I do know is that SB is playing improved on defense since
the 2nd half of the Cuse game and all of Colgate. Our
linebackers did a great job against Army of reading the
direction of the options, moving towards the sideline and
forcing the inside contain. And also being disciplined enough
to cover the backside/reverse.
And chalk that up to Priore and his staff being prepared.

Approx halfway through the season- i took a look at the #s. And
keep in mind these 5 games have been against extremely diverse
competition. Extremely.

The Coaches were unimpressed by the win over Army and kept SB at
#18. This is just a bit concerning. IF the Wolves lose another
game...would most likely be at Liberty but could be at
Coastal...and don't win the conference, then getting an at-large
bid while sitting in the mid-teens in the Coaches poll is not a
sure thing. Liberty got passed up at around #15 in that
situation. With SB's remaining weak schedule they would have to
blow out every opponent to move close to Top Ten in the Coaches'
poll. I do expect to see SB in the playoffs, but being at #18 at
this point doesn't help the case for an at-large bid down the
road.

I think Colgate will be competitive in the Patriot League and
could help our case for an at large. If they finish first or
second, then I think we have really good case for an at large
with two quality wins over Colgate and FBS Army.

ry1nik, I think you are mistaken. Seawolves are #13 in Both
polls... According to goseawolves.org... However, I see very
little chances of the Big South receiving two bids. We gotta win
our conference. if Liberty beats us (currently 0-4) then we most
likely wont get an at-large bid
