No doubt yesterday was the best tailgate ever at Stony

You have to win close gms in order to win in playoffs, that
builds character and winning attitude. You can't expect to roll
over everybody it's not realistic. These teams come in here with
something to prove cause of all the attention Stony Brook is
getting. You want to clean up your mistakes and play your best
football at the end of the year. Win is a win and you move on to
the next. Also Joewillie and I tailgaited right next to Brevi,
Haber, West and a couple other recent football graduates. What a
bunch of good dudes, it was alot of fun hangin w/those guys. And
Maysonette has out played Coker cause he is better than
him,sorry had to say it.

Maysonet is the real deal. Someone sitting near me at the game
saturday said there were 15 NFL scouts there watching him.

I was really really thinking the same thing- even though Coker
and Maysonet are different style RBs, no?
And while we are on that topic- Coxson hasnt exactly outplayed
Gush, who hasnt gotten the targets this year yet. Thoughts?

For whatever reason Norrell has become the primary target. He
is good no doubt but once Syracuse shut him down our passing
game suffered. Gush can catch and run and Im still waiting for
Coxson to show some of that speed going down the sidelines.
Mixed thougthts on Coker. 1200 yards in the Big Ten and seems
something is missing this year. Maybe the blocking or triple
team defense they play against him. Not sure but he struggled
against CCSU not a defensive power house by any means. i dont
know ,I'm waiting for that breakout 100 yard plus game from
him.

The Big South is now 4-17 against Div I opponents this season. I
don't see how it will survive long after SB and Liberty leave.

Do not remember where I heard this. I think on the radio post
game after the Colgate game. I am not sure I put much stock in
this but the speculation was that Coker is struggling because he
is used to needing to hit the hole at a quicker rate than the
FCS level plays at and he is into the line before the blocks
have time to develop. I know the SBU offensive line is pretty
good at what they do (look at the numbers they produce on the
ground) but I guess that is an interesting thought. Opinions?

80 you might be right. The Iowa offensive line is quite
different than ours . I watch him every game and he tends to get
jammed up going into that pile of humanity. Coach needs to
make some adjustments so he can break free. See what happens
going forward.

Yes Chairman I would say that Gush is a more polished than
Coxsen. He has better hands and runs better routes. Also glad to
see Maysonette returning kicks, I think that will be a real
difference maker for us. Would like to see the other backs
Lawrence and Williams return also, not impressed w/Coxsen as a
return guy. What has really stood out about Coker is that he
doesn't break tackles. He should be running people over with
that size.

Watching Coker run, you can see he's got raw power, but he's not
exactly going to juke and jive anyone. Teams hit him with 3
LB's, he carries them and gains 4.
At Iowa thats pretty much what he did too. He'd occasionally
barrell through a guy, but thats when he's touching the ball 25+
times per game. He also was the only game in town (next highest
RB had 31 carries on the season). With SBU, he's only seeing 15
carries/game, so he doesn't get a chance to wear people down.
I don't think there is anything to be worried about with him.
As the season goes along, and teams start to get tired, banged
up, etc., he'll continue to be a beast. Thats when he'll really
put on a show.
