Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook head coach Chuck Priore has
announced the signing of three mid-year transfers. The three
student-athletes - Conor Bednarski (South Pasadena, Calif.),
Zedrick Gardner (Miami, Fla.) and James Kenner (Willingboro,
N.J.) - each will have two years of eligibility.
"We're excited to add Conor, Zedrick and James to our program,"
Priore said. "They will add experience to our program coming
from outstanding junior colleges."
The 6-3, 205-pound Bednarski earned second team All-Southern
Conference honors for Fullerton College after passing for a
league-best 2,453 yards, including a season-high 331 against
Riverside, and 25 touchdowns, including five games with three
scores. As a freshman, he recorded 1,836 yards and 11
touchdowns.
As a senior at South Pasadena High School, Bednarski, who
finished his career with 3,962 yards and 37 TDs, earned first
team All-League honors.
A graduate of national high school powerhouse Miami
Northwestern, Gardner led ASA College with four interceptions en
route to second team All-Northeast Football Conference honors.
The 6-3, 210-pound safety tallied 33 tackles, including 2.5 for
loss, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.
A teammate of Gardner's at ASA, Kenner rushed for 676 yards and
eight touchdowns in 2012. As a freshman, Kenner was among the
Avengers' defensive leaders with 25 tackles, including 4.0 for
loss.
The 6-0, 205-pound Kenner starred as a two-way player at Paul VI
High School in Haddonfield, New Jersey.
The trio will enroll at Stony Brook for the spring semester and
participate in spring practice.
The Seawolves are coming off a second straight appearance in the
Division I Football Championship and won a program-best 10
games.
After five seasons in the Big South Conference, Stony Brook will
begin its first season as a member of the Colonial Athletic
Association in 2013.

Being in the CAA and we continue to play two FBS teams a year
helps. Plus SBU is good place to be.

This is what our new CAA competition Richmond is doing with mid
year transfers. the Arms Race is underway big time!
Richmond signs impressive trio of transfers
University of Richmond, VA (Sports Network) - Richmond football
coach Danny Rocco announced his program's signing of three
transfers - quarterback Michael Rocco from Virginia, wide
receiver Shane Savage from Cornell and tight end Sean
Fitzpatrick from North Carolina - on Monday.
Michael Rocco is the nephew of Danny Rocco and started 21 games
at Virginia the last three seasons, including eight this season.
He threw for 4,731 yards and 27 touchdowns and had 24
interceptions with the Cavaliers.
Per NCAA rules, Rocco must serve a year in residency. However,
Richmond will seek a waiver to permit Rocco to be eligible to
compete next season.
Like Rocco, Savage will have one season of eligibility remaining
at Richmond. He has graduated from Cornell after three seasons
in which he finished fourth all-time in receptions (154) and
fifth in receiving yards (2,013).
Fitzpatrick can play two seasons at Richmond. He appeared in 12
games for the Tar Heels in 2011, including the Independence
Bowl.
"We are all very excited about these additions to our program,"
said Rocco, whose team went 8-3 and earned a share of the CAA
Football title this season. "All three student-athletes have
outstanding resumes as well as transferring in from competitive
academic institutions. Our ability to continue to build depth
and to create an element of heightened competition will increase
our probability for continued success."
Richmond announced all three players will begin classes next
week

along with 1st team All Metro,& 1st team All L.I.

I wonder if Priore with Red shirt him for the first year ?. I've
seen some of videos and he looks like he could play at the next
level already!

what position is Haggart? I assume he will be a freshman coming
in, and has not signed a LOI, what are we going off of to
determine he has made a verbal commitment?
