Just heard from source close to program that 2012 Newfield grad
LB Ron Denig 5' 11" 220 is looking to walk on next year. He went
to prep school this fall at Millford Academy. He was all L.I.
and all metro as a senior also won LI championship. Saw him play
several times and he is a real bulldog, throwback type of
player. Was voted suffolk top linebacker as well.

Not technically a 2013 recruit but I just noticed Temple
transfer Malcolm Eugene is currently on the Stony Brook roster.
It looks like he's redshirting this fall and will use his last
season of eligibility in 2013

I saw him last weekend on the sidelines. He is a big dude.

Sounds like Haggart will be playing LB at Stony Brook per today

Our DL looks great next year. Simpson and Ochi return on the
outside. Hauter inside; we lose Coats, backed up by Allen.
Wonder if Dmitry Russ can be moved inside or what recruits we
have coming in.
At LB, we return Nakwaasah (so fun to say that name), Francklin
and Dudley (all JRs). We lose Mulrooney which will hurt. We
may need to beef up at LB quickly by 2014.
In the secondary, we will have some holes to fill. Lots of SRs
and JRs. Also an immediate need at free safety.
On the offensive line, we are young. Everywhere else there
seems to be younger guys to step up. Anyone think we should
start going for some 6'5'' receivers???

Haggart from Sayville is a stud and will play LB at Stony
Brook. They are also looking at 2011 all metro LB from Newfield
HS Ron Denig who is currently playing at Milford academy. As far
as safety goes I think Cheeseboro fits in nicely. 6'5"
receivers don't grow on trees so I don't know were that leaves
us. The redshirt transfer Eugene is 6'4" so maybe he gets some
run next yr. What we really need is to continue to get
playmakers, that's why Tyler Fredericks is a huge get if he
comes here.

MSG Varsity has reported that 2011 All Metro and All Long
Island LB Ron Denig ( 6'0 220 ) will play at Stony Brook next
year. He spent this season at prep school. Denig played for
Newfield HS were he won a LIC in 2011.
