Hopefully this group can makea run toward the NCAA's .
Only three ooc games at home isnt great. I know we have Sacred
Heart and Canisius and I suspect Eastern Illinois. Our road
schedule has Uconn and Seton Hall and I think Maryland , that
is fairly strong . But as long as they win .Hard to believe
with all those bigs our rebounding may suffer.

from what i saw last year (6-7 games) i liked coley with the
ball. i thought at times he didnt take care of it (possibly
rookie mistakes) but he took some chances and i like his quick
first step. he has the ability to accelerate quickly with the
ball and i think thats great to penetrate these "soft zone"
defenses you see a lot at this level.
i think coaches think that outside shooters at this level are
less of a threat than inside the paint, so they sluff just a
bit. so to break that zone, coley's penetration can forces a
slide and open up a big down low or in the corners, maybe make a
3v2.

I like Coley. He is an agressive competitor that puts out 110%
every game. I dont know about point guard with Purifoy but as
a shooting guard aka Chris Martin style driving into traffic
around the basket yes.
Buy the way in season ticket packages are out - some nice
give aways if you sign up by 8/15 including trips to the
Maryland game and Uconn being raffled off.

I for one am interested in hearing how the freshman are looking,
along with King/Mayo, as they are the replacements for the
departed Seniors. Someone mentioned Reid looking good; I'd
really like to hear more about him. Don't one of you guys have
any inside contacts that can give a scouting report?
This team to me will be very different than your team last year.
Much more speed/agility, with less bulk/power. IF Warney/Mayo
can supply the latter, you will get much more of the former just
in the change at PG (Jackson/Puriefoy)....this is the sleeper
team of the AE, in that I doubt that anyone thinks they will be
a contender. You need athletes to speed up UVM, not plodders to
play at their pace. This team has that.

The non-conference schedule came out today. Only 4 home games
until AE play starts but a solid non conference slate in
November and December.

I saw this, and was going to respond on the AE forum, but after
reading the comments, saw no need. Wow, those guys at UVM
really have a thing for you guys, huh? I've always really
liked/respected that program, but their fans are just the most
obnoxious and arrogant fans I've seen. It's funny though,
because to me it's also obvious that they fear your program, or
else they wouldn't take so much time trying to knock you
down......anyway, I thought that your schedule is a pretty good
one. In addition to the big 3 (Seton Hall, UConn and Maryland),
you have some other really good match-ups (Cornell, Manhattan
and Canisius). I prefer to talk SB hoops here, as it's just too
much BS on the AE board.....overall, very nice non-conference
schedule; I'll assume that you guys have trouble getting good
opponents to come into your small gym? Can't blame them
actually.

Yeah. We need the SBU Arena asap. Its almost impossible to get a
"tough" home opponent at the Prit...
Its okay though. besides the Mount Ida game, I like the schedule

If I look at the schedule it seems as the season goes on the
games get toughr. Note all our big match ups come in late
November and December You think the coach did this build a
little confidence in his new recruits.
We start off with humble Mt Ida and go into December with
UConn, Cornell, Maryland, SetonHall and Manhattan who is
supposed tbe pretty good this year. I'm not a conspiracy buff
but really looks like baby steps first then the heavy weights.
