Awesome. I remember watching the Monmouth vs Stony Brook game at
6am. I was a Junior at SBU, that week was when I became a true
Seawolf fan. Something clicked on me. lol

I'm anxious to see our non conference schedule when it comes
out. From what I have seen posted on other boards we have some
good games coming up. Just no D-3's on our home schedule this
year!

It came out yesterday that Jake O'Brien of BU will be
transferring for his final year. Probably the correct move for
him, but this has to hurt BU in their games this year, as he
would be most likely their best player. I assume that you are
still playing them twice this year, so this is not an
insignificant loss for them...as of right now, in regard to
non-conference opponents, I've seen or know of the following:
- Maryland
- Seton Hall
- UConn
- Sacred Heart (home and home)
- Rider
- Cornell
- Canisius
I'm sure there are more, as that is only 8, but that's a pretty
competitive schedule, as the 3 BCS schools speak for themselves,
Cornell is really improving, Canisius has a new coach and at
least 2 BCS transfers, and you lost to Sacred Heart last year
(not sure how that happened, but they do have arguably the
pre-season POY in the NEC)....when do you release your
non-conference schedule?

I like the schedule so far. Are any of the BCS games winnable?
UConn lost a bit to the NBA and transfers, but they're still
UConn. Seton Hall graduated their two leading scorers from last
year.

What are the chances against Seton Hall? we lost by two last
year....
I know we lost a good class but do we still have a chance to
pull it off?

I think this year's team may actually be better than last year's
team, despite the graduations...especially in the second half of
the season as the highly touted freshmen get broken in.

With no disrespect to the seniors who graduated, I agree that
this years team could be better than last years. We had a really
deep bench last year and didn't lose much when we went to it.
Given BU's ineligibility and the departures at UVM and Albany, I
think we could compete for the conference title even if the
freshman, King and Mayo only play small roles this winter. I do
think most of those 6 have the potential to be very good in the
America East, and if one or two of them are ready to play up the
that potential it could be a special year.
I believe the freshman are on campus. Any word on how they look?
Someone told me that Mayo had some knee trouble early last year.
Has that been an issue or was he just taking a redshirt year to
work on his game and in the weight room?

All weight room. From what I hear Mayo is bigger, better - and
perhaps best of all more mature. Now if he could learn how to
keep the ball off the floor we'd have have a definite upgrade at
center.

Have to agree . Big guys shouldnt be putting the ball on the
floor before each inside shot. At 6'9 it should be one upward
motion to the hoop.

Only 3 ooc home games and no msg type game this year. Good for
my season ticket price - not good for building that at large bid
resume lol. The team got together this week and they are
basically allowed to play together two hours a week now. Word I
got is Reid looked phenomenal. Tried to dunk and alley oop
every pass and rebound around the rim. The team will be weaker
rebounding the ball but will make up for it in athleticism. Our
JUCO transfer Ron Bracey has really been working hard and he is
ready to score within the offense. Now of course the coaching
staff will always put a positive face forward but I think with
the kids they have and the changes to other teams they are
really thinking NCAA tourny this year.
