thanks for that story on Coxson. up til that story, I was not
aware that he was hit in a drill and had no idea who hit him.
at least he got his degree from SBU and can move on with his
life. from his twitter account, he seems very dedicated to his
young son.

This to me makes is sound like he got a LOT more than 5K. Injury
settlements during direct team-related injuries can be in the
tens to hundreds of thousands, especially if that injury leaves
a player "permanently disabled" (read: retired). The biggest
issue is discussing how much potential he had to make an NFL
roster and get paid real money. My hope is he walked away with
enough money to support his son and get a post-grad degree so he
can get a solid job and build a good career.

I saw that yesterday. I couldnt believe it. What a loss for
Nova and what a dent on the CAA.
Congrats to Penn. But our top programs in the CAA shouldnt be
losing to the Ivy...

Nova's loss points to the deficiency of being too dependent on a
single offensive player, Robertson. with him gone for now, they
are a completely different team. on the good side for them, its
a non conf loss.

“We obviously like to play one FBS game a year because it’s an
excellent way to supplement our revenue,” Charles King, JMU’s
Senior Vice President of administration and finance, said.
“Those games average low $300,000’s to the one we just played at
SMU where we got $425,000. Typically what we found was the FBS
schools that we want to play, are in the $[325,000] to $375,000
range. You got to play a non-conference schedule.”
BTW: Stony Brook got paid $325,000 for the non-game in Toledo

I am happy SB didnt get the shaft from Toledo, but if they want
to start making more $ like JMU makes we need to have a winning
season year after year. One win or one lose doesn't make a
season, but I did get a chance to watch the WM/SB game on SNY
reruns and we just looked awful out on the field. The only
player who looked good was Cheesboro. Our Offense, Defense
looked like scared PAL kids..
I am expecting a total annihilation on saturday from JMU but our
schedule gets easier there after and if we win out, there is a
chance we can make the post season and salvage our year, just a
chance!!!!!
