I agree with you BFF. The recent failure to recruit and retain
a sufficient number of capable offensive linemen is a major
concern. The Fordham recruit's decision isn't the whole problem
it is just a single example. It appears, however, that the issue
has been recognized and a new position (Assistant AD/Director of
Player Personnel) was created and filled this summer by the
re-hire of coach Patrick Hatch. He is a go-getter. I am
hopeful we see improvement in this area with the next recruiting
class. For now, however, we just have to cross our fingers and
hold our breath.

The team added tight end Will Tye and defensive lineman Montori
Hughes on Monday.
GIANTS PRACTICE SQUAD:
• TE Will Tye: The Stony Brook product was in camp with the
Giants this summer and showed some ability. He was among the
team's first round of cuts.

that is very sad news about Coxson. cant believe he took a
crack like that on the third day of practice. glad to see that
his agent was able to squeeze some money out of the Packers for
injury suffered in camp. I heard that the Packers were trying
to weasel out of paying him anything, claiming he had a
preexisting condition, or some BS like that.

Your are correct; they said he did not disclose his past
injuries..
But his agent was able to; they should due a complete review of
each player prior to being in camp.

more on Coxson and his retirement, from Washington Post. turns
out the GB Packers were fight him over $5,000! can you believe
that?
Adrian Coxson, an undrafted free agent rookie out of Stony
Brook, had hoped to catch on with the Green Bay Packers after
signing with the team in May. But after getting carted off the
Packers’ practice field on Aug. 1 following a huge hit, the wide
receiver is now changing his career plans.
Coxson, who suffered a Grade 3 concussion on the third day of
training camp in his rookie season, is retiring at the age of
23.
“I’m retiring because I’m still having symptoms and my health is
more important to me than the game of football,” Coxson said in
a telephone interview with the National Football Post. “It’s
been recommended to me by two neurologists and two doctors to
retire from football. The next hit to my head could possibly
kill me or be life damaging. This last one could be life
damaging. It has taken a great toll on me. This concussion was a
bad one. A Grade 3 concussion is real serious.”
The Packers released Coxson on Aug. 17, citing “failure to
disclose physical condition” as the reason. But Jonathan Herbst,
Coxson’s agent, told ESPN.com that they disputed that claim and
reached an injury settlement with the team, which also allowed
him to keep the $5,000 signing bonus he received earlier this
year.
“I think he’s making the right decision,” Herbst told ESPN on
Monday. “His health is more important than football.”
Coxson told the National Football Post that he has no regrets.
“I take pride in that, I take pride in being able to function
right now from this injury,” he said. “I’m concerned about my
health and I’m concerned about how healthy I am and I want to
get to as close to 100 percent as I can get. I’m concerned about
the outcome of this whole injury. It was a bad one.”
