NFL prospects?
By: sbufan Date: October 5, 2011, 4:11 pm

Are any of the current seawolves NFL prospects? Bamiro obviously
has NFL size but I imagine he's still too raw to really say. I
don't think Jackolski is an NFL running back but I could see him
moving to the slot and being successful if given the right
opportunity. Imo Maysonet looks like he could be a running back
in the national football league.
Did I leave anyone out? Is any of this accurate?

I'm struggling to see any of the seawolves as NFL prospects. I
thought Eddie Gowins had a shot before all the injuries and
leaving the program, but no body right now strikes me as having
that kind of future. Lots of good players but NFL caliber??
Not so sure.

I think both Jackolski and Maysonet should have the opportunity
to sign as undrafted free agents. I don't know if they can make
the roster, but I think both will at least go to camps.

I see a lot of our guys as "CFL" prospects. Brock and Maysonet
are both solid RB's, but lack the measurables to be on an NFL
roster. I do think they have a legit shot to make a living
playing pro ball (maybe Arena, maybe CFL)

I don't want to be blindly optimistic but I think they'll get
their chance with the NFL. They are both a slightly undersized,
but they have enough size for NFL. Brock Jackolski ran a 4.3 in
high school. If he can still run a 4.3 with the added muscle
since high school (he's an honest 195lbs+), I think he has a
shot in the NFL as a slot reciever or 3rd down back. I agree
that they have better chances in the arena or CFL, but I'd be
surprised if they don't get invited to NFL camps.

Dont overlook Skiffington after next season. He has a great
leg and a 45 yard range for FG's.

Does anybody know if Brock or anybody else was attending any of
the Regional combines that the NFL is holding?

Skiffington is underated. He has a solid leg with a 45 yard
range that isNFL range . Very few kickers are very accurate
beyond 45 yards although some do hit the 48 and 49 yard range
at times.

I don't anything about kickers. For some reason my feeling on
skiffington is that he is very accurate, but doesn't have great
range. I don't know why i think that though.
I remember hearing one of the coaches after the season talking
about setting a schedule for Brock with regards to training and
finding the right pro day but having heard anything since. Brock
is a pretty incredible athlete, and I bet he could put up some
sick numbers in a combine. Priore had Brock play in our nickel
package in the Liberty, Albany, and Sam Houston games. Any
chance that was so NFL teams could have video of him playing
corner? Corner might be his most natural position.
