The schools bid for the right to host the tournament, i.e., the
schools promise a certain amount of money to the conference. If
you look at Fiore's history, he's pretty aggressive bidder when
it comes to hosting tournaments (AE lax tournament this year and
next, our two NCAA football home games, the NCAA lax
quarterfinals back in 2010, NCAA women's lax championship
weekend)
Expect Stony Brook to start hosting the basketball tournament a
lot.

Attended the "Meet the Team" event last night, and it was
terrific!! I'm really psyched about the season. All the
players I talked to seemed upbeat, yet relaxed--a great bunch of
young men (and women too).
The arena is, as Coach P. would say, is AWESOME!!!! I can't
wait to get in my seat. I know everybody's been obsessing about
their point totals to assure they get their choices. But, I
gotta tell you, there ain't one bad seat in that place!! GO
SEAWOLVES!!!!

I'm looking forward to CBB even though I'm still not giving up
on our football season. November 8th-9th will be a great pair of
matchups (vs Marist MBB, vs Richmond CFB)

Coach P is an incredible speaker, He really has the skills to
fire up the players and fans.. I think he could sell someone the
Brooklyn bridge !! LOL... Thats EXACTLY what you want as a
coach... I can't wait for this season to begin. My son got his
basketball signed by all the players and I got some pictures of
them too. And the Arena is coming out top notch, Beautiful.. I
agree, there is no bad seat in that Arena .. I was actually a
little unsure about when we choose our seat selection.. But
thats a long time out and I am sure we will get 100 E mail
notices telling us when and where.. He mention the "Town
Hall"????? Interesting !!

I am not giving up on our Football team either just a little
disappointed in how confused and unprepared our team appears to
be in so far.. I am not even upset with the 3 and 4 record at
this point .. SB Football is in a real good conference now and
this year will build character and build strength for years to
come, It's only going to get better with time !!

This goes back to what I was saying earlier today. Coach P will
one day be a big name in College Basketball. He's still very
young and has a lot of coaching years under his belt.. Lets
hope he can take our team out of the mid majors and into the Big
School status !!!!

I just hope that if he some day becomes a nationally regarded
coach, that Stony Brook does everything possible to keep him. I
think we all gonna have to chip in if we wanna keep coach P in
the future. LOL

Hopefully one we make a jump to a major conference with Coach
P. Got the grand tour of the new arena Monday night. It is a
class act. Good seating from anywhere, concession stands and
restrooms. Seems to be more leg room also between the aisles.
They said it will be open after home games to take a look a if
you get chance.
