Yesterdays scrimmage was against a very well prepared and
athletic Villanova team. SB was hot and cold on a very very
       cold lax outing.
First, we witnessed two very different styles of lacrosse:
Nova was very aggressive, pursued to the ends of the boundaries
and has a seasoned, well prepared team. Their aggressive
attitude produced several personal fouls but also produced
several turnovers. Their faceoff players were better than SB
but SB has improved since last year.
SB has an exciting developing team with some great players to
watch develop. When you consider where SB is coming from, I was
very pleased with how they have developed since last year. SB
goalies looked good and one showed outstanding ability.
SB defense looked very strong at times against the well trained
Nova but there were lapses in the defense when Nova attack was
       wide open on the crease.
SB showed some early season sloppiness in passing while
clearing. SB was stung several times by poor passing.
SB attack has improved and was exciting to watch. With the right
tuning, SB will be a top flight team even with the bulk of
       freshman players.
This was one of the coldest lax games I have ever attended.
Also, SB should announce on their web the schedule of the
scrimmage games. I found the information on this scrimmage on
the Nova lax site. One more point, the red numbers on the red
jerseys can only be read at 10 feet not from the stands. Get
       some legible shirt designs!!!!!!
Best wishes for a winning 2013 season.

From what I've been reading it sounds like we moved the ball
well and created opportunities however we also threw the ball
away both on offense and the clear. which I expect because of
       the youth.
Sounds like rock did well and Rogers too. Since tundo will prob
run mid that's my prediction for a starting lineup. Also
Eastwood had a huge debut and we know he'll be out there with
Rooney, Schultz and sichenzia. Maybe the lineup is coming
       together already.
Also sounds like we slid early off the crease and rice lit us
up. He's great I've seen him play. Perhaps we are worried about
dodges and our ssdms, esp since Laverne graduated and legall the
       year before.
Would love to know who looked better in cage! And also what our
face off situation was. Was creasing playing defense?

I would be surprised if Rock started over Andressi but we will
find out on Sat. He just didn't do much in High School. The
other Rock kid got all the ink.
What did you hear about Eastwood? Would be great if he becomes
       the new McBride.

Perhaps theyve chnaged up #s??? I guess we are all working on
       that assumption...
I was thinking the same thing about Eastwood- our next
       McBride!!!

Newsday usually does a good job covering Stony Brook. They are
all over the basketball team right not.

Yeah i guess its just different because bball is everywhere, but
when it comes to lax, there's so few concentrations- one of
which is LI- and nothing in the preseason. Also, ive seen them
do preseason coverage before. Used to be Tom Rock???
